Screen Free Saturday at Ivy StationM FA > Take a break from your devices and connect with likeminded folks at a screen-free community hang on the Ivy Station lawn in Culver City this Saturday. Analog activities are encouraged, whether it’s reading, sketching, puzzle solving or just chatting it up. Expect relaxing ambient tunes, lawn games, board games, and books for borrowing. Exhibition Openings at TAMFA TP > Torrance Art Museum hosts an opening reception this Saturday night to mark the debut of their spring exhibitions. The reception features a live dance performance by CONTRA-TIEMPO Activist Dance Company supported by vocalist Carmina Escobar. Art on display will include the group exhibition Body Count, David DiMichele’s immersive installation, Envirotechnology, and Erin Cooney’s Aire Libre. Benny Boy Third Anniversary PartyFA > Benny Boy Brewing celebrates their third anniversary this Saturday with a Baseball-themed bash featuring live music, a batting cage, food by Correa’s Mariscos and Zev’s BBQ, a Cider Candle Popup, and DJ’d tunes that’ll play through till midnight. Native Plant Fest at California Botanic GardenFA > This Saturday, Claremont’s California Botanic Garden hosts a Native Plant Festival celebrating California’s incredible biodiversity. Dozens of regional nonprofits, landscapers, and agencies will be on hand offering info on native plant landscaping, wildlands conservation and restoration efforts, special workshops, and tours. The family-friendly event also includes storytime and craft stations, live music, and bites for sale from on-site food trucks. Tickets are free, but must be reserved in advance.
