Make Metro Part of Your Weekend

CicLAvia – The ValleyFA > On Sunday, the 2024 finale of CicLAvia pops up in the San Fernando Valley, stretching a 5-mile across Sherman Way from Shoup Ave to Lindly Ave. The car-free route will feature multiple activity hubs and plenty of local gems to explore along the way as you walk, skate, or ride at your heart’s content. El Segundo Holiday ParadeFA > The 60th Annual El Segundo Holiday Parade returns on Sunday with the theme “Candy Cane Lane on Main”. Expect magical displays of festive cheer from local schools and organizations, to marching bands, vintage cars, businesses and floats. Stop by the after party held at El Segundo Brewing Company where they’ll be offering “poked beer” a centuries old German tradition, where a hot metal rod is plunged into a glass of beer, in this case, ESBC’s Christmas Break Ale resulting in a s’mores like caramelization. The parade runs 1 to 3 p.m. More info here

Sunday Studio at MOCA GeffenM FA > The Museum of Contemporary Art’s quarterly art party features food, music, and local vendors, plus guests can stop in for special activities including a creative session with optical devices and play inspired by Olafur Eliasson: OPEN, plus a hands-on pickling workshop introducing folks to basic concepts in fermentation, led by L.A.-based fermented food instructor Jess Wang. Admission is free this Sunday, but you have to RSVP in advance. Runs 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. More info here.

Miracle on Main Street 2024FA > This Sunday Miracle on Main Street returns to Santa Monica with an evening of kids activities, carolers, an appearance by Santa, a performance by the Santa Monica High School Choir, and a tree lighting on the California Heritage Museum lawn. It’s all free to attend. Runs from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. More info here.
