Middle and high schools in L.A. County could technically be eligible to reopen within the next few days, but LAUSD won’t reopen campuses until at least April. LAUSD Superintendent Austin Beutner says that the district is on track to vaccinate 25,000 employees before it reopens. The district is now targeting a mid-April elementary school reopening, with middle and high schools to follow later that month. [Los Angeles Times]

A new vaccination site opens today at USC. When fully ramped up, it should have the capacity to vaccinate up to 5,000 individuals per day, making it the second largest vaccine site in the city. [ABC 7]

Did you know that if you volunteer at a vaccination site for a minimum of four hours, you’ll become eligible to receive the vaccine? The eligibility doesn’t guarantee vaccination since it would depend on available doses on-site, but it would apply even if you’re not in one of the approved tiers. A judge ruled that Vanessa Bryant will be given access to the names of the four Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies accused of sharing photos of the helicopter crash site where her husband Kobe and daughter Gianna died.
