The Music Center’s Dance DTLA ->The Music Center’s free Friday dance series continues this week at Jerry Moss Plaza with a night of Salsa led by instructor Leslie Ferreira and tunes provided by DJ Aragon. Starts at 7 p.m. No reservations required. More info here.
SaMo PRIDE -> The Santa Monica PRIDE events slate is jam packed for Father’s Day weekend, including a live installment of the Mortified Podcast on Friday, followed on Saturday by a PRIDE-themed Angel City Market on Third Street Promenade and a Queer Prom at Water Garden. Outdoor Movies at The Skirball – The Skirball’s outdoor movie programming returns This Friday with a screening of Galaxy Quest. The film will be accompanied with a special pre-screening talk by Star Trek expert Scott Mantz, as well as access to the museum’s latest exhibits. Tickets cost $20 per person. More info here.
Jazz at LACMA -> This Friday at 6 p.m., the Los Angeles County Museum of Art brings the Bob Reynolds Quartet to Smidt Welcome Plaza as part of the ongoing Jazz at LACMA series, which continues on Friday evenings through November. Don’t Tell Comedy Anniversary Shows -> This Friday and Saturday, Don’t Tell Comedy has special 5th anniversary shows lined up at at locations in Santa Monica, Venice, Playa Vista, Pasadena, and El Segundo. You won’t know which comics will be performing until they stage, but that’s all part of the surprise. Tickets are $20. KTOWN Night Market -> Inspired by the lively night markets in Asia, KTOWN Night Market is a vibrant two-day street party with live music performances from local and international talent, plus a large selection of food and merchandise vendors over one single weekend. Runs this Friday and Saturday Tickets are $10 for a weekend pass. More info here.
Hollywood Fringe -> Dozens of venues, including The Broadwater, The Hudson and Three Clubs, host a huge slate of comedy, ensemble theatre, dance and immersive performances during the the three-week run of the annual Hollywood Fringe Festival. Runs June 9-26. More info here.
Trans Pride LA -> This year, Trans Pride Los Angeles returns virtually and in-person with a dance party, timely discussions, a job fair and more, all from this Thursday to Saturday. More info here.
Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles -> The 2022 edition of the Levitt Pavilion concert series opens on Saturday with a lineup of El Gran Silencio, Buyepongo, Las Chikas, and La Banda Elástica Dj’s. Sunday continues the action with a Caribbean Kaleidoscope concert featuring Upstream, Prince Bernard, Chacombo, Dj Adé Neff, Jonkonnu Performers, and Hummingbird Village. Straight Ahead and Pose to Pose -> This Saturday, the Japanese American Cultural Center will host an opening reception for Straight Ahead and Pose to Pose, a new exhibition curated by Sow & Tailor that explores the influence of the “Golden Age of Anime” in the 1980s and 90s, and how the the creative ripple of that era continues to be felt in the work of contemporary artists today. Reception runs noon to 4 p.m. The exhibition will be on view through July 16.
Off The 405 at The Getty (continuing June 18) -> Live outdoor music is back at The Getty this summer with the Off the 405 concert events The series continues this Saturday with a performance by Bartees Strange. Free to attend with reservation. More info here.
The Broad: Now We’re Here -> The Broad’s summer music series, Now We’re Here, kicks off on Saturday with a gaze toward the new exhibition This Is Not America’s Flag, and a consideration of identity and intersectionality. The lineup includes queer rapper Niña Dioz, local fave DJ Cocteautwink, and Mariachi Arcoiris de Los Angeles, the world’s first and only LGBTQ+ mariachi band Tickets are $25 per person. GMCLA Queen Tribute -> This Saturday at The Bar at Fairmont Century Plaza, the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles performs a special PRIDE tribute to Freddie Mercury and Queen by singing more than a dozen songs from the iconic British rock band. The free performance starts at 7 p.m. More info here.
Pasadena Chalk Festival -> The Pasadena Chalk Festival returns to The Paseo this Saturday and Sunday for a two-day event featuring art and music featuring some 200 murals and over 500 artists This event is free to attend. More info here.

Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance -> Is dad a car guy? Celebrate Father’s Day this Sunday in the heart of Beverly Hills with an up-close with some of the world’s most luxurious vehicles at this annual free car show. The event also includes a slow-moving car rally that runs north on Crescent Dr, west on Sunset, then south on Beverly Dr. to arrive back in Downtown BH. Concerts in The Dome -> Mount Wilson Observatory continues its 2022 season of classical concerts hosted inside the historic 100-inch telescope dome, where the acoustics are said to be some of the finest in the world. This Sunday, the program features Ravel’s String Quartet, performed by the Salastina Music Society. There will be two musical performances, one at 3 p.m. and the other at 5 p.m. Tickets are $50. Summer Concerts at Warner Ranch -> Valley Cultural Foundation Summer Concerts series kicks off at Warner Park this Sunday with an R&B set by Terrell Edwards and Brittney Crush. Runs 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Free to attend. More info here.

Los Angeles is going big for Father’s Day (June 19), offering special dining events for every type of dad. A few suggestions below.
DAD Donuts at Randy’s -> Randy’s Donuts is offering DAD donuts Thursday through Sunday at select locations (Inglewood, El Segundo, Downey, Santa Monica, Torrance, Pasadena, Costa Mesa.) The Bavarian cream filled donut is topped with blue and vanilla icing. Priced at $3.35 this is a sweet and affordable way to help dad start the morning off feeling special.
Father’s Day Drag Bingo -> Hotel Figueroa is celebrating queer dads with a Father’s Day Drag Bingo event. Held poolside on the patio of Sparrow Italia, the day time gathering includes fabulous drag performances by an array of queens and a live DJ. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m on Sunday. All ages are welcome to attend. Seating will be on a first come, first serve basis.
65-cent Martinis at ALK -> If dad’s drink of choice is a Martini then you would be glad to know that National Martini Day falls on the same day as Father’s Day. To celebrate, The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood’s New American restaurant ALK is offering 65-cent vodka martinis with the purchase of an entrée. Cheers to that!

Hogs, Hops & Pops -> For Father’s Day FIG Restaurant at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows will host ‘Hogs, Hops & Pops.” The day includes sips from local breweries, BBQ offerings including Pachamama Farms heritage hogs prepared by Culinary Director Jason Prendergast and guest Chef Patricio Wise of Nixtaco Mexican Restaurant, as well as lawn games. Tickets for the event cost $75 per guest. Children 10 and under are complimentary.
Sound Bath & Brunch -> Help dad zen out at L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele’s with sound bath and brunch event on Sunday. Held in the Hollywood pizzeria’s secret garden, the ticketed event ($65 per person) includes a combination of medicine breathwork and sound healing led by professional healers, followed by a brunch.
Noble House For Noble Dudes -> On Sunday, head to the Redondo Beach Marina for “Noble House For Noble Dudes” at The Portofino Hotel & Marina a family- friendly day featuring live music, craft beers, cocktails, BBQ by Chef Hung Quan and a variety of outdoor entertainment. Tickets cost $81 per adult and include three drink tickets, and all food items; children cost $33.75 and include all food and beverages.

50% off at Langer’s Deli on Saturday -> Family-owned Langer’s Delicatessen will celebrate its 75th anniversary this month by offering 50% off of all checks for those who dine in on Saturday, June 18. Rules are one sandwich per customer. The promo applies to folks dining in only. In addition, Langer’s Deli will extend their hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on this special day.
