You didn’t think I was done with the cheatsheet series, did you? Just as I did with the free summer concert list, below you’ll find every free summer movie I could muster (mostly at outdoor venues) screening between now and the end of August in Los Angeles County.
The calendar leans heavy on the kid-friendly side (Encanto, Luca, and Boss Baby all make multiple appearances) but there’s a mix of action-adventure blockbusters, comedies, and even some classics (Casablanca, Some Like It Hot) on the rundown. What you won’t find, of course, is anything rated R. I guess if you want gratuitous sex and violence on film, you’ll have to pay. Still, I feel satisfied you can find at least one date on the calendar worth your time. And if not? Don’t worry, I’ll have more free ideas up on the blog soon (you should definitely subscribe to our newsletter if you don’t already).

Schedules TBA
Just in case you think I forgot anything, there are a few movie series pipelined that I have yet to find specific film info for. They are as follows:
L.A. County’s Parks After Dark programming includes a HUGE slate of free movie nights and concerts at 34 parks around the county. The times and locations for movie nights look locked (at least according to this flyer) but I have yet to find specific film info for any of the scheduled dates. If and when I see they get released, I will add them to the calendar.
The Marina Del Rey tourism website mentions Marina Movie Nights will run on select Saturdays during this summer, but dates and movies are still TBA.
Plaza West Covina has slated three Tuesdays (July 12, July 26, August 9) for their Night Flix series, but no other info is yet available.
Did I miss anything? Feel free to hit me up at [email protected] with any notes, errors or omissions, and I’ll be sure to update the list. Thanks for reading!
