So There’s an Interactive Star Trek Symphonic Performance at UCLA This Sunday

Any trekkies out there looking for a good (or any) excuse to don your most authentic regalia.

This Sunday afternoon over at Royce Hall on the campus of UCLA put on your Starfleet uniform and join world-renowned composer and conductor David Newman as he leads the American Youth Symphony to the exhilarating score of Michael Giacchino’s Star Trek Into Darkness, live to picture.

While you watch Kirk, Spock and the rest of the crew in J.J. Abrams’ sci-fi blockbuster the AYS will follow the score note for note- it doesn’t get any cooler than this! OR does it?

Since this is not a typical night, guest are encouraged to dress up and boo when villains appear and cheer when the team on the Enterprise kicks some ass. Happening at Royce Hall at UCLA, the event’s host and the Oscar winning composer himself, Michael Giacchino along with renowned pop culture critic Jon Burlingame, will hold a brief pre-concert Q&A.

Tickets for the performance are $20 at the door, $15 if you buy pre-sale, and there are select discount options (like $10 or less) via our friends over at Goldstar. Make sure to compare prices before you buy!

ALSO: A special dinner is set to follow the performance to benefit the AYS (tickets sold separately). More information via the official event website.

Royce Hall is located on the campus of UCLA,  10745 Dickson Ct, Los Angeles, CA 90095.
