Things To Do in L.A. For New Year’s Eve 2023
NOTE: The forecast now looks like steady rain for most of Saturday afternoon and evening. Make sure you double check the event links to see if they have decided to cancel or pivot due to the inclement weather.
Grand Park New Years Eve Celebration -> Take part in Los Angeles’ flagship NYE celebration with music across two stages in Grand Park, 3D light projections and a light show projected onto City Hall. Grammy-nominated Cuban Funk artist Cimafunk and DJ Marques Wyatt headline entertainment for the evening, which is billed as the largest free New Year’s Eve event on the west coast. Also, an important note: umbrellas are prohibited at the park! If that’s a dealbreaker because of the weather, either pack a poncho or look for another option. More info here.
Big Bar NYE -> The Los Feliz bar counts down the new year on the hour, every hour, till the clock strikes midnight. This year’s theme is decades, so with each passing hour the era shifts, starting with the 1930s at 3 p.m. Throughout the day/evening, the NYEx10 menu will feature a classic cocktail made popular for each decade, a playlist to match, and a countdown every sixty minutes. Angel City No Cover New Years -> Angel City Brewery will host a free New Year’s bash featuring a complimentary champagne toast at midnight, and plenty of brews on tap for purchase. Be sure to get there early as they anticipate maxing out capacity. More info here.
The Groundlings Theatre & School’s New Year’s Eve Spectacular -> Kick off 2023 with a night of comedy, live music and a midnight toast to ring in the new year. Tickets are $100 and include a hosted happy hour with drinks and hors d’oeuvres before the performance. More info here.
Westside Winter Wonderland NYE Ball -> Enjoy New Year’s Eve with an ocean view at Loews Santa Monica, highlighted by glitzy winter wonderland decor, a big band 40s era performance from The Satin Dollz in the main lobby, and DJ’d tunes outside until 1 a.m. Tickets are $60 in advance or $70 the week of. The Roots at Disney Concert Hall -> The Roots bring a grammy-winning dose of hip hop to The Walt Disney Concert Hall for New Year’s with a pair of evening performances (7 and 10:30 p.m.). Tickets still available as low as $96 at the time of publication. Get more info here.
Pangea Sound NYE at Ace DTLA -> Ring in 2023 with Pangea Sound when they takeover The Ace DTLA’s lobby. Tickets cost $50 for GA and includes a glass of bubbles to toast the new year. VIP cost $250 and include an open bar, passed canapés, dedicated area and access to the rooftop starting at 11 p.m. More info here.
Paella Party at Eszett -> The Silver Lake restaurant is hosting an outdoor paella party with free flowing beers for $35. The dining room is also offering a whole Dungeness Crab special served with scallion rolls, crab fat artichoke dip served with house-made chips for $80. Tickets for the paella party will go live next week on resy. The dinner special is limited in availability, reservations are highly recommended. Walk ins are also welcome for both events. GLAMONATRIX Gala -> Bring in the New Year at The Orpheum with an evening of burlesque courtesy of pin-up queen Dita Von Teese, whose 1940s style mixes comedy and striptease to wind down your 2022 in memorable fashion. Tickets for the start as low as $49.50. Get more info here.
New Year’s Rockin’ Eve at Grandmaster Recorders –> The rooftop at Grandmaster Recorders will host a night dedicated to David Bowie with DJs spinning his music in addition to other party tunes and classics all night. Tickets are $75 and inclusive of passed appetizers and an open bar. More info here.
Workshop Kitchen & Bar -> On New Years Eve Chef Michael Beckman will offer a $150 prix fixe menu that includes decadent courses like Oysters, Chips & Caviar, Oxtail Cannelloni, and Wagyu Tenderloin Steak Frites. Dance Yourself Clean at Teragram Ballroom -> Weekly event purveyor Dance Yourself Clean brings indie tunes and chill vibes to Teragram for a New Year’s Eve party that is high on fun, and low and pretension. GA tickets start at $40, and VIP goes for $100. Get more info here.
Intergalactic Disco NYE Party -> Hawthorne’s Common Space Brewery embraces 2023 with a night of disco, dancing, and a double dose of DJ sets plus a costume contest with prizes for those coming in their best space-themed attire. Admission is free, and guests have the option to add a three-taco plate with a pre-paid ticket. Get more info here.
New Year’s Evil at The New Beverly -> Slice your way through the New Year with an old-school slasher flick at The New Beverly Cinema. New Year’s Evil is a low-budget 1980 horror film following a L.A. punk rock DJ threatened by a serial killer who is knocking off unsuspecting victims every hour on the hour leading into New Year’s. New Years Eve Fireworks & GLOW Party at Marina del Rey -> Celebrate the New Year with fireworks in Marina del Rey! Enjoy a ten-minute fireworks show, at 8:59 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. The shows will be shot from the Marina’s south jetty and can be viewed from virtually anywhere in Marina del Rey. The free family-friendly Glow Party takes place at Burton Chace Park, 7 p.m. to midnight. More info here.
Bar Lis Midnight in The French Riviera -> The chic rooftop lounge in Hollywood will ring in the New year with a five-hour open bar, passed hors d’oeuvres, sounds by international DJ Awsumo and a champagne toast at midnight with a special countdown. Tickets start at $125. More info here.
The Peninsula Beverly Hills’ New Year’s Eve Disco Ball -> Welcome 2023 and do the hustle under the shimmering lights of a disco ball. The Peninsula is celebrating with a ticketed event that start with a four-course meal by Michelin Star Chef, Ralph Schlegel and then a full blown party on the dance floor with a DJ, professional dancers and live performers throughout the evening. New Year’s Eve Dinner at The Tasting Kitchen -> To ring in the new year the Venice restaurant will offer 3, 5, 7 course tasting menus curated by Chef Travis Passerotti. Options range from crudos to handmade pastas or a pre-dessert cheese course. Menus are priced from $145 to $265 per person. More info here.
Marina del Rey NYE -> New Year’s in MDR includes a family-friendly glow party at Burton Chace Park from 7 p.m. to midnight, plus a pair of fireworks displays (8:59 p.m. and 11:59 p.m.) to countdown to 2023. More info here.

London Calling at Midnight, at The Chap -> On New Year’s Eve the new British inspired pub will host a four-hour open bar, passed hors d’oeuvres, a performance by Amy Winehouse tribute band, Dear Amy band and a champagne toast at midnight with a special countdown. A Honky Tonk New Year’s Eve at Desert 5 Spot -> Grab your cowboy boots and head over to Desert 5 Spot in Hollywood for an eccentric New Years party. Guests will enjoy a five-hour open bar, passed hors d’oeuvres, live performances with Stagecoach artist Nikki Lane with Johnny Travis Jr. & the Desert 5 Band, a mechanical bull and a midnight tequila toast with a live countdown. Prohibition NYE -> Ring in the New Year at Prohibition. The event, now in its ninth year, will see L.A.’s Union Station transformed into a massive entertainment hub featuring burlesque shows, a live jazz ensemble and headliners Neil Frances and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. Cassia New Year’s Eve 2022 -> The Southeast Asian brasserie will host their annual New Year’s Eve family-style dinner for $95 a person. Courses include beloved classics and new specials such as Vietnamese-Cajun Crawfish Spring Rolls, Wok-Tossed Black Pepper Udon and Braised Lamb Shank Ragu. Specialty cocktails and wine flights will also be featured for the evening. Guests can also take home a keepsake for the night with Cassia’s photo booth. More info here.
Esters –> The wine shop and bar will be open until 1 a.m. on New Year’s Eve. Guests are encouraged to dress up in Black Tie attire. On offer for the evening is lots of bubbly, Tsar Nicoulai Caviar with blinis and handmade pasta with truffles. NYE Presented by Night Dive at The AoP -> Spend New Year’s with the fishies at Long Beach’s Aquarium of the Pacific with a NYE edition of their night dive programming. Expect DJ’d tunes in the galleries, a cash bar, karaoke at the Veranda, and a confetti countdown at midnight. GA tickets are $59.95 More info here.
Fanny’s NYE Dinner & Party -> Celebrate 2023 Old Hollywood-style at Fanny’s with a live DJ, dancing, bubbles, and a five course tasting menu. The menu for the evening includes a seafood platter, bao buns with duck breast as well as steak and fish courses. Tickets for dinner cost $225 and include tax, gratuity and a complimentary glass of bubbles. Dinner guests can extend their evening on Fanny’s patio for more champagne, small bites, and dancing. An Opulent NYE at Culver Hotel -> Ring in the New Year at the Culver Hotel, with an indulgent prix-fixe menu featuring a roster of classics with a twist, including caviar and chips, mini lobster rolls, filet mignon and truffle baked potatoes, along with Lillie’s specialty cocktails. Guests with second seating reservations ($175 per person) are invited to continue the celebration with live jazz in the Grand Lobby with a balloon drop, and champagne toast at midnight. New Years Eve at Lemon Grove -> The restaurant located at The Aster will host a NYE menu for both carnivores and vegetarians. Priced at $125 per person the special prix-fixe menu includes an Apricot Royale to Roasted Prime New York Strip Steak and Truffle Risotto. New Years Eve diners will also be given the opportunity to join The Aster’s festivities after dinner, which will include a DJ, champagne toast and a meditation south bath for those looking to ring in 2023 in a calmer manner. Capital Cities at The Venice West -> Hitmakers Capital Cities bring their brand of dance-able pop to The Venice West for a New Year’s Even Concert, with support from trumpeter Spencer Ludwig. Doors open at 6 p.m., music starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $58. More info here.
Encanto New Year’s Eve Dance Party -> Dine and dance the end-of-year away at Los Feliz’s contemporary-Mexican restaurant, Encanto. The restaurant will offer its regular menu to guests and from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. will transformation into a New Year’s Eve dance party with a DJ. More info here.
New Year’s Eve Party at LA Ale Works in Hawthorne -> Los Angeles Ale Works Hawthorne location is throwing a Brew Year’s Eve party featuring live music, DJs, food vendors, something called a “keg drop” and a “beer tower filled with their new Hawthorne Reserve, 9% ABV Imperial Pilsner. Ultraviolet NYE Party at Risky Business -> The North Hollywood bar goes ultraviolet on New Years Eve, including blacklight flaming cocktail bowls on fire, blacklight billiards, a blacklight absinthe fountain, a dance floor and more.
