Sometimes when you’re figuring out what to do with your weekend, what you really need is just a little help from your friends.
To that end, we asked a few of our fellow L.A. bloggers, podcasters, and social media brethren to help us out with their top picks for this weekend, and then we combined those choices with one pick from both Christina and I.

The result is a quick list of some of the absolutely best stuff happening in Los Angeles over the next couple days.
Hope it helps you find something awesome to do.
Have a great weekend!
1. Feral Cat Art Show (Friday)
Kristen Rae Lepore, social producer for KPCC, has #1 of her list of free weekend events a special art show for National Feral Cat Day (yup, that’s a thing).

2. Sherman Oaks Street Fair (Sunday)
Picked by Jonathan Bilski, creator of Things to do in LA.
Jonathan (a SFV resident) says:
“We have a fondness for this Valley based street fair. You can have as many CicLAvias as you want (in fact one is happening at the same time) but the main thing is we would like it if you went outside and explored an area you’ve been before from a new vantage point, the street. Walk nine blocks on Ventura Blvd with vendors, food, music and booths giving you that street fair experince in no way trying to act cool. The SOSF or Sherman Oaks Street Fair has been on the streets longer and plays harder…and the name is so much easier to say.”
3. 5th Annual Found L.A.: FREE Festival of Neighborhoods (Saturday-Sunday)
Picked by Gerren Kelsaw, creator of the This Is The City Podcast.
Gerren says:
“They explain it the best: Found L.A. is a FREE, annual citywide event that showcases culturally dynamic neighborhoods through the eyes of residents, public figures and renowned artists, who volunteer to share their unique perspective and passion for their neighborhood. Found L.A. is open to anyone who wants to organize a tour of their neighborhood, and anyone who wants to learn more about the vast expanse that is Los Angeles.”
4. Robery and The Good Life presents UNDERGROUND RISING
Picked by KCRW’s Kajon Cermak:
Kajon says:
“If you’re a hip-hop head, you already know a lot of these peeps or perhaps you wanna spice up your rap playlist. Either way, it’s an awesome gig with beats poppin, and a cool venue. Doors open at 8 at the Airliner for $15 at the door. 21 and up only. Gotta be a big kid to play in this sandbox.”
5. OFF THE HOOK Santa Monica Seafood Festival
Picked by Christina Minh, co-founder of We Like L.A.
Christina says:
“October is National Seafood Month! Celebrate by heading over to the OFF THE HOOK Santa Monica Seafood Festival. The inaugural event takes place on the Santa Monica Pier featuring, all-you-can-eat seafood tastings, beer gardens, live music, interactive displays, cooking demos, oyster shucking competition, educational programming as well as other marine-inspired activities.”
6. Burbank Beer Festival
Picked by Brian Champlin, co-founder of We Like L.A.
(That’s me, and yup, I’m going to quote myself, hah!)
“With 85 beers on tap for two 3-hour sessions and a huge free street festival for the entire day, this inaugural event is poised to become a yearly staple.”
