Here’s a Cheatsheet of Free Museum Days in L.A. For April 2024

Welcome to your April cheatsheet! Before we get to the core rundown, here are a few programming notes/events you might want to keep on your radar for the month to come:

• ED RUSCHA / NOW THEN, a new cross-media retrospective of artist Edward Ruscha, debuts at LACMA on April 7. Adult admission at LACMA is normally $20-$25, but you can get in for free on the first Tuesday of the month (see below), or if you’re an L.A. County Resident, you can get free entry on weekday afternoons after 3 p.m.
• On April 14, USC Pacific Asia Museum’s free second Sunday features a range of activities designed for teens (artmaking, henna tattoos, live music), all managed by USC PAM Teen Ambassadors.
• The Getty Center has a few great free events on the docket for April, including a College Night on April 15 that includes FREE parking (yay!). There is also a Family Festival on April 7 (no free parking)
• On April 19, the Museum of Latin American Art and the African American Cultural Center of Long Beach will team up to host a free showcase of local black and Afro-Latinx artists, held at Expo Arts Center. You can RSVP here.
