Is it summer yet? The official solstice isn’t yet upon us, but with the massive slate of annual series, concerts and festivals on deck, it feels like it has already arrived.

This June in Los Angeles, you’ll find Latin Sounds at LACMA, Grand Performances in DTLA, the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival, the Leimert Park Juneteenth Festival, Dance DTLA at the Music Center, Levitt Pavilion multiple KCRW Summer Nights events, and lots more. Friday Night Wine Tastings at Barnsdall Park (starting May 31) – M > After a five-year hiatus, Friday night wine tasting events are back at the Barnsdall Art Park West Lawn starting May 31. A $45 ticket gets you a flight of wine curated by Silverlake Wine, plus access to a rotation of food trucks, all supported by tunes from local DJs and sweet sunset views of the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Park Observatory. WeHo Pride (May 31 to June 2) – > WeHo Pride 2024 starts June with a weekend-long celebration featuring three days of OUTLOUD concerts at West Hollywood Park (ticketed), plus the Dyke’s March and Women’s Freedom Festival on Saturday, all capped by Sunday’s annual WeHo Pride Parade. Additionally, entertainment venues in West Hollywood’s Rainbow District along historic Route 66 will host numerous special Pride events. More info on the full schedule of events here.

Music Under The Stars in Pasadena (June 1) – M FA > Catch a free concert in front of Pasadena City Hall put on by the Pasadena Symphony and POPS, preceded by a performance from Bob Baker Marionette Theater and plenty of kid-friendly activities. No reservations required. Seating is first-come, first-served. More info here.

LACMA Latin Sounds (June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29) – FA TP > LACMA is bringing a series of Saturday evening, outdoor concerts at Dorothy Collins Brown Amphitheatre (just north of the La Brea Tar Pits Museum) in celebration of the exhibition Painting in the River of Angels: Judy Baca and The Great Wall. The lineup for Latin Sounds includes Cuban violinist and band leader Dayren Santamaria, the East L.A.-based son jarocho band Cambalanche, Boogaloo Assassins, and others. Movies Under the Stars (starting June 1) – M FA > Old Pasadena shopping mall One Colorado is hosting Movies Under the Stars on select Saturdays for the months of June and July The series opens on June 1 with a showing of Crazy Rich Asians, to be followed by a lineup (popping up on alternating Saturdays) that include Barbie, Mamma Mia!, Pitch Perfect, and Legally Blonde. Off the 405 (starting June 1) – FA TP > The Getty’s annual after-hours concerts series offers five dates for the summer of 2024. Off the 405 kicks off on June 1 with Ethiopian musician and composer Hailu Mergia, with a schedule to follow that includes performances by Slauson Malone 1 (June 15), Helado Negro (July 20), Julia Holter (July 27), and Woods (August 24). You’ll need to pre-register for free to attend, and remember that parking is $10 after 6 p.m. on Saturdays. More info here.

Grand Performances (starting June 1) – M FA > Outdoor concerts in the heart of downtown on Fridays (and some Saturdays) from June to August. This year’s Grand Performances kicks off with a KCRW collaboration on June 1, to be followed by a diverse schedule of performances, including the Women’s Mariachi Festival, a tribute to Celia Cruza, the Cali Soul Jam, a pair of Friday night poetry shows, and more. Torrance Summer Nights (starting June 1) – FA > The Torrance Summer Nights series offers a blend of outdoor movies, concerts, and Shakespeare in The Park. It all starts with a performance by the Taylor Swift cover band Taylor Nation on June 1. The events take place from June 1 to August 31 on specific days, mainly at the Wilson Park Amphitheater, with some shows at partnering locations. More info here.

Last Remaining Seats (June 1-15) -> The Los Angeles Conservancy’s annual series Last Remaining Seats features classic film screenings in some of Los Angeles’ most beautiful and historic movie theaters, including Million Dollar Theatre, the Orpheum Theatre, and Los Angeles Theatre. LAWineFest (June 1-2) -> LAWineFest returns to Long Beach for a two-day event featuring a packed lineup of wine tasting, craft brews, ciders, kombucha, food, lifestyle exhibitors, and live music, all taking place at Harry Bridges Memorial Park. Saturday runs 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday is 1 to 5 p.m. GA tickets start at $80 per person. More info here.

Sherman Oaks Spring Concert & Festival (June 2) – FA > The Valley Cultural Foundation’s re-scheduled spring concert and festival finally arrives with an evening event at Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks Recreation Center featuring “Beatles vs. Stones” cover band battle plus food trucks, free balloon art, and special activities for kids. Runs 4:30 to 7 p.m. More info here.

Hollywood Bowl Day at Smorgasburg (June 2) -> Smorgasburg LA celebrates the new summer season at The Hollywood Bowl with a series of “punny” food specials, including a NUTELLA Lafourcade gelato by MOOMMAAM, Quarantine Pizza’s Mozz-art-ella under the stars, or a Beckon cheeseburger bowl by Evil Cooks. GRAMMY Museum® Hip-Hop Block Party (June 6) -> Join the GRAMMY Museum® for a block party inspired by the Hip-Hop America: The Mixtape Exhibit. An evening affair from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m., the experience features dance showcases, a fashion show, pop up art and live performances. Celebrate Black Music Month with curated vibes by DJ R-Tistic and immerse yourself in hip-hop culture across the Museum’s floors. Tickets cost $10. More info here.

Summer Exhibitions Opening Celebration at the Hammer (June 8) – FA > The Hammer is hosting a summer celebration to welcome several new exhibitions to the gallery, including Refashioning: CFGNY & Wataru Tominaga and David Medalla: In Conversation with the Cosmos, Houseguest: Mute Flesh, and Hammer Projects: Jordan Strafer. Expect after-hours access to the art (until 10:30 p.m.) plus a cash bar. More info here.

KCRW Summer Nights x Cabrillo Marine Aquarium Grunion Fishtival (June 8) – FA > The Fishtival is a special annual tradition at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium and this year KCRW will super charge the party with music sets from KCRW DJs Anne Litt and Jason Kramer. Guest will also get to hatch grunion eggs, explore tidepool animals, marvel at life-sized inflatable whales and head to the beach to witness the fascinating grunion run. June Jubilee: A Celebration of Black Excellence (June 8) – FA > The Changing Tones Advisory Committee presents June Jubilee an event that celebrates the rich Black culture in Los Angeles. Happening at the Central Library the day will include speakers, workshops, informative discussions, live entertainment and family friendly interactive activities. Free to attend. More info here.

The 28th Annual Gilmore Heritage Auto Show (June 8) – > The 28th Annual Gilmore Heritage Auto Show comes to the Original Farmers Market. This years theme is American vehicles from the 1930s and earlier. More info here.

Downtown Burbank Arts Festival (June 8-9) – FA > A huge vendor marketplace curated by Jackalope Arts takes over Downtown Burbank for a two-day event featuring 170+ indie sellers on hand offering curated goods include original fashion and jewelry design, paper goods, innovative home decor and housewares, art, photography, food, and more. EEEEEATSCON (June 8-9) -> The Infatuation’s signature food fest comes to the Santa Monica Barker Hangar with a bevy of top restaurants from L.A. and the East Coast under one roof, plus live music and plenty of panels. GA tickets start at $30, but you’ll still have to pay for food samples once you’re inside. Get more info here.

54th Annual LA Pride Parade & Block Party (June 9) – FA > The annual LA Pride Parade & Block Party runs along will include over a hundred floats, along with a block party adjacent to the parade route, all free to attend. This year’s route (the longest ever!) runs north on Highland Blvd past the ABC7 live broadcast, then head east on Hollywood Blvd, and south on Cahuenga Blvd. Starts at 11 a.m. More info here.

Summer of Salsa (June 14) – M FA > The LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes Summer of Salsa series continues one Friday each month through the end of summer, highlighting some of the city’s best salsa and Cuban bands in the process. For June, catch a performance by Gabrielito y La Verdad. DTLA Dog Days (June 14-15) – M FA > DTLA Dog Days returns this year at Pershing Square. The free event features dog-friendly vendors, activities, photo ops, and live DJs. Highlights include Bring Your Dog to Work Day, free community dog walks, Puppy Yoga, and a marketplace with local dog vendors. Registration is required for some activities. More info here.

TARFEST: A Day in the Park (June 15) – FA TP > The 21st edition of TARFEST pops up at Pan Pacific Park for a one-day festival featuring a reggae and afrobeat musical extravaganza curated by Boomtown LA, free art-making activities, dance classes, artisan booths curated by Runway Boutique, face painting, and local food trucks. Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival (June 15-16) – TP >  The annual jazz festival returns to the Bowl for a two-day concert that includes performances by Jodeci, Andrea Day, Kamasi Washington, The Soul Rebels, Seun Kuti and others. Tickets start at $29. More info here.

Q Con LGBTQ+ Comic Con (June 15) -> Q Con celebrates the diversity of LGBTQ+ comics, games, and popular media. The day includes panel presentations, meet and greet with comic creators and publishers, a costume contest and more. The event is free to attend and family friendly. More info here.

Public Star Party at Griffith Observatory (June 15) – FA > Every month, Griffith Observatory hosts a free public star party with the help of volunteers from the Los Angeles Astronomical Society, the Los Angeles Sidewalk Astronomers, and The Planetary Society. More info here.

CAAM Juneteenth Celebration (June 15) – M FA > The California African American Museum will host a Juneteenth Celebration featuring live music, food trucks, and activities for all ages including storytelling, and discussions on the significance of Juneteenth. Attendees can also explore the museum’s new exhibits. More info here.

Sunday Afternoon Concerts in the Dome (June 16) -> Mount Wilson Observatory continues its 2024 season of classical concerts hosted inside the historic 100-inch telescope dome, where the acoustics are said to be some of the finest in the world. There will be two musical performances, one at 3 p.m. and the other at 5 p.m. Tickets are $60. More info here

Bloomsday 2024 (June 16) – FA > The Hammer celebrates author James Joyce and his novel Ulysses with Bloomsday, a theatrical blend of staged readings and performances all centered around the author’s most iconic work. Performances are followed by festivities in the museum’s courtyard with more live music and Guinness on tap. More info here.

Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance (June 16) – FA> Get up-close with some of the world’s most luxurious vehicles at this annual free car show in the heart of Beverly Hills. Free to attend. More info here.

Leimert Park Juneteenth Festival (June 19) – M FA > The Leimert Park Juneteenth Festival returns under the theme of “LA’s Family Renunion,” bringing togoether 300 Black-owned businesses, plus multiple stages of live music, DJ’s and spoken word performance to Leimert Park Plaza. Runs 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Free to attend. More info here.

Juneteenth Celebration T-Pain and Special Guests -> The Hollywood Bowl will celebrate Juneteenth with T-Pain and his curated line up of special guests and a full orchestra. This one-night event celebrates Black music with performances from Ledisi, D Smoke, Tina Campbell, LaRussell, and the DC6 Singers Collective, backed by the Color of Noize Orchestra led by Derrick Hodge. Shakespeare By the Sea (starting June 21) – FA > The 27th anniversary season of Shakespeare By the Sea kicks off in June at The Bandshell at Recreation Park in Long Beach with productions of Shakespeares lost play Cardenio: Double Falsehood  and Henry IV. All shows are free to attend, but donations are gladly accepted. Performances run at locations throughout L.A. and Orange County through Aug. 3. More info here.

Pride Night at The Aquarium of the Pacific (June 21) – M > In partnership with The LGBTQ Center Long Beach, the Aquarium of the Pacific is celebrating the LGBTQ+ community with an all ages event featuring drag queen storytelling, rainbow themed activities and much more. The Music Center’s Dance DTLA (starting June 21) – M FA TP > Free evening dance parties return to The Music Center’s Jerry Moss Plaza every Friday from June 21 through August 16. At Dance DTLA, instructors will be on hand to teach guests easy-to-follow steps, allowing everyone to get into the groove right from the jump. MUSE/IQUE Presents “The Judas of Folk: Dylan Plugs In” (June 22-23 & June 25-26) -> The second annual MUSE/IQUE Open House will feature two live music events this month, celebrating the iconic American artist Bob Dylan. The first performance will be held at Pasadena Memorial Park, followed by a second performance at the Skirball Cultural Center. More info here.

SaMo Pride Festival (June 22) – M FA > Santa Monica Pride Festival will throw a block party on Third Street Promenade with live music, themed snacks, games, swag, community booths and more. The event is free to attend and all ages are welcome. More info here.

Long Beach Walls and Art Renzei (June 22) –FA > Now in its ninth edition, Long Beach Walls and Art Renzei is a week-long free outdoor art festival that has transformed 40 square miles of the city with 130 vibrant murals. From June 22 to 29, 2024, attendees can enjoy live mural painting, interactive art installations, music performances, and engaging workshops from invited artists. More info here.

Levitt Pavilion & LACMA Summer Art Hop (June 22) – M FA > The Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles and LACMA Summer Art Hop brings hands-on art activities, music, and refreshments to Charles White Elementary School and Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles in MacArthur Park, all as part of the opening of the 2024 Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles concert series. Highlights include a reception with Sand Brewed Coffee and tea, live classical music, and the Levitt LA Opening Concert headlined by Vilma y La Sonora and La Diabla. NoHo Summer Nights (starting June 22) – M FA > Starting June 22, NoHo Summer Nights brings film screenings and/or live performances to North Hollywood Recreation Center every Saturday through August 24. Free to attend, and no RSVP required. More info here.

Venice Fest (June 22) – FA > Head to Venice Fest for a day of fun for all ages featuring local bands, yoga, games, and classic cars on display. There’s also a beer garden and food trucks to refuel. More info here.

Garagiste Wine Festival (June 22) -> Garagiste Festival is Los Angeles’ only wine festival that exclusively features wines from commercial California ‘garagiste’ winemakers. The wines are poured by the winemakers or owners themselves at the festival offering a rare opportunity to meet the sources behind the wine. Ticket prices range from $65-$100. More info here.

CicLAvia South LA (June 23) – M FA > L.A.’s signature open streets program has a pair of summer offerings (both sponsored by Metro), starting with a 5-mile South LA course on June 23. Free to attend, and both will be accessible by multiple Metro service stops. More info here.

Out Block Party (June 23) – M FA TP > Angel City Brewery teams up with  GLAAD, Makeshift Muse, and Truly LA for a Pride-focused afternoon block party featuring unique vendors and performers. Happening from noon to 7 p.m. Free to attend. More info here.

BET Experience (June 26-30) -> The BET Experience is a dynamic five-day festival with a line up of electrifying events that include ticketed concerts headlined by Cardi B to a Roots Picnic at The Hollywood Bowl, a slate of live comedy shows and a two day free Fan Festival. More info here.

Flux, Summer 2024 (June 26)-> The Flux screening series at the Hammer brings together the creative community to celebrate remarkable short films and music videos from all over the world. The event features imaginative filmmaker presentations and performances, followed by a courtyard party with a DJ and cash bar.More info here.

Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival (July 27) -> Held at Marine Stadium, this is the largest dragon boat competitions in California. Guest will also enjoy Chinese traditional art demonstrations, acrobats, dance, music and martial arts performances. More info here.

Outdoor Movies at Skirball Cultural Center (June 28) -> The Skirball’s outdoor movie programming returns in June with a screening of Where The Wild Things Are. Guests are also granted access to the museum’s latest exhibits including Wild Things Are Happening: The Art of Maurice Sendak. Tickets cost $20 per person. More info here. 

KCRW Summer Nights @ CAAM (June 28) – M FA TP > KCRW Summer Nights takes over The California African American Museum for an after hours affair. This free event features live music, food trucks, a beer garden and access to the museum’s latests exhibits including solo exhibitions by Simone Leigh, Paula Wilson, and Tatyana Fazlalizadeh, as well as historical looks at Black beach life and African Americans in rural California. Pier 360 (June 29-30) – M FA > This two-day, all-ages, free festival hosted at the Santa Monica Pier features ocean sports competitions, interactive games, a beer garden and plenty of live music on both days. More info here.

Monrovia Music Fest (June 30) – FA > The 7th annual Monrovia Music Fest brings a day of family fun to Monrovia Library Park with live band performances, activities, food trucks, and an artisan market. Free to attend. Runs noon to 7 p.m. More info here.
