Pier 360 – M FA > This two-day, all-ages, free festival hosted at the Santa Monica Pier features ocean sports competitions, interactive games, a beer garden and plenty of live music on both days. The festival runs Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (though some competitions start a bit earlier). Free to attend! More info here.
Kirbyvision at Corey Helford – FA > This Saturday, Corey Helford hosts an opening reception for Kirbyvision: A Tribute to Jack Kirby. The group exhibition celebrates the artwork and influence of American comic creator Jack Kirby, whose legendary contributions to the medium include co-creator of Captain America for Timely Comics (predecessor to Marvel), along with co-credits for Ant-Man, the Avengers, the Black Panther, and the Fantastic Four. Culver City Pride 2024 – FA > This Saturday in Culver City is all about Pride! The festivities kick off with a 6-mile Pride Ride, departing from Syd Kronenthal Park at 4 p.m. Then at 6 p.m., Main Street in Downtown Culver City comes alive with a community celebration featuring music, speakers, drag performances, food, face painting, and more. The ride requires an RSVP, but the celebration is open to all. More info here.
