Outdoor CorePower Yoga at Culver City Steps -> CorePower Yoga will host several free outdoor classes every Tuesday in July at the Culver City Steps. Classes start at 6:30 p.m. and will run through September 10. You’ll need to bring your own yoga mat and pre register for classes. More info here.
Benson Movie Interruption -> What’s better than seeing a terrible/awesome movie with your friends and making fun of it while you watch it? One word: Celebrities! This Tuesday at Dynasty Typewriter, Doug Benson hosts a “your choice” version of his Movie Interrupted series with special guests including Noël Wells and Guy Branum. Attendees are invited to bring in a Blue Ray / DVD of their choice, and the audience will vote on what to watch before the show begins. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7:30. July 4th Fireworks Spectacular at The Hollywood Bowl -> From July 2-4 (this Tuesday to Thursday) Harry Connick Jr. headlines this year’s Hollywood Bowl celebration, which will once again be a three-day event featuring a concert followed by a spectacular fireworks display over the iconic shell. Amerigo Vespucci World Tour – FA > Italy’s oldest naval vessel, the Amerigo Vespucci, will dock in San Pedro from July 3-8, offering a free and immersive maritime experience. The nearly 100-year-old ship will host a pavilion with programs, concerts, and more for the public to enjoy. More info here.

First Wednesday at AoP – TP > Every first Wednesday evening of the month, the Aquarium of the Pacific hosts a guest lecture and cocktail reception at the Pacific Visions Theater. This months discussion is all about the California newt, with a presentation from Dr. Lee Kats or Pepperdine University. While there, you can check out the Aquarium’s newest exhibit, FROGS: Facing a Changing World. Tickets are $5 in advance, or $10 the day of. Runs 7 to 9 p.m. More info here.
Grand Park 4th of July Block Party – M FA TP > DTLA’s biggest free 4th of July event is back with an evening-long celebration (starting at 4 p.m.) featuring live performances, a 75-foot ferris wheel, an array of onsite food trucks, and a spectacular drone light show to cap the evening. Cinespia with Fireworks -> This Thursday to Saturday, Cinespia lights up the Hollywood Forever Cemetery with a three-night event to ring in the Fourth featuring an outdoor movie screening followed by a celebratory fireworks show. The lineup includes Rocky (July 4), Charlie’s Angels (July 5), and Shrek 2 (July 6). Tickets start at $37.94 (including fees) per person, and parking onsite is $35.88. More info here.
4th of July Fireworks Show at the Torrance Civic Center -> For July 4th the City of Torrance will put on a fireworks show at the Torrance Civic Center with viewing locations at the West parking lot of the LA County Court House, and the L.A. Galaxy Sports Complex. You don’t have to buy a ticket, but attendance is limited and based on first-come, first-served. The pyrotechnics begin at 9 p.m. More info here.
Rose Bowl Stadium 4th of July -> The longest-running fireworks display on the West Coast returns to the Rose Bowl on July 4, preceded by a rivalry match between LAFC and the Los Angeles Galaxy as they battle it out for local bragging rights. More info here.
Anime Expo – M > Anime Expo’s four-day event returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center from Thursday to Sunday, offering anime lovers meet-and-greets with anime creators, special panels, Q&A’s, workshops, interactive experiences and so much more. Four-day passes cost $165, you can also grab a single day ticket which cost between $75-$90. More info here.
Councilmember Bob Blumenfield’s July 4th Extravaganza – FA > The Valley Cultural Foundation’s massive 4th of July event at Warner Ranch Park includes a performance by Angela O’Neill and the Outrageous8, plus a over dozen onsite food trucks and 20-minute fireworks display after sundown. The event listing mentions the park can accommodates up to 40,000 attendees, so expect a crowd! Free to attend. More info here.

4th of July Fireworks in Marina del Rey – FA > This Thursday, Marina del Rey will offer a free 20-minute fireworks show along the coast with viewing spots at Burton Chace Park or Fisherman’s Village. Show begins at 9 p.m. and is free to attend. More info here.
Frogtown First Fridays – FA TP > The Frogtown neighborhood celebrates the July 4 holiday weekend with a family-friendly activation this Friday, featuring participating 15 venues including galleries, restaurants and shops, all adjacent to the L.A. The Handbuilt Invitational -> From Friday to Sunday, this three-day pop-up at DTLA Auto Storage showcases rare collections of custom built cars and motorcycles by friends of Revival Cycles, including Jay Leno, Roland Sands, Jonathan Ward (ICON), Rod Emory (Emory Motorsports), Shinya Kimura, Race Service and more. Friday Night Wine Tastings at Barnsdall Park – M > After a five-year hiatus, Friday night wine tasting events are back at the Barnsdall Art Park West Lawn. A $45 ticket gets you a flight of wine curated by Silverlake Wine, plus access to a rotation of food trucks, all supported by tunes from local DJs and sweet sunset views of the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Park Observatory.
