Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch – > Culver City’s favorite pumpkin village is back offering plenty of family fun, including photo ops in front of giant pumpkin installations, a straw maze, a super slide, petting zoo, giant rocking horses, and pumpkin decorating sessions. Tickets cost $10 to $25 depending on date and tickets for activities begin at $1 each. Mr. Bones runs daily through October 30 More info here.
Carved at Descanso Gardens -> Descanso Gardens’ family-friendly Carved is back with a pumpkin wonderland featuring a new route, hundreds of carved pumpkins and kid-friendly activities. Tickets start at $35-$45 for non-members. Runs nightly through October 30. Get more info here.
Black Bar Social at The Music Center – M FA TP > This Tuesday at The Music Center, a featured artist or culture maker will pose a question and curate an experience to spark curiosity, imagination and conversation about the evolving cultural landscape of a vibrant Los Angeles. For October, the theme is Artificial Intelligence & The Rasquache Realm, curated by filmmaker Alex Rivera. Free to attend. Runs 6 to 9 p.m. More info here.
Netflix Is A Joke Radio Presents: Are You Still Listening? – M FA > Netflix’s free monthly stand-up series returns this Tuesday to Dynasty Typewriter with host London Hughes plus a lineup featuring Ama Quao, Maddi Mays, Rachel Bonnetta, Ramsey Badawi, and Willie Mac. No cost to RSVP for admission, but seating is first-come, first-served and not guarantee entry. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and show starts an hour later. More info here.
Pitch-A-Friend at Angel City Brewery – M FA > It says a lot if a friend is willing to stan you to a group of total strangers, right? That’s the premise behind Pitch-A-Friend, where presenters run through a series of 3 to 5 minute slide deck presentations (in all earnestness) followed by a singles mixer where you can meet-and-greet with the friends who come so highly recommended. And if you have a great single friend you want to pitch, you can apply to be a presenter too! Event runs this Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Free to attend. More info here.

The Comedy Patio – M FA > Free standup comedy comes to Grand Central Market this Wednesday in the form of The Comedy Patio, a showcase taking place at Maple Block. Jeff Buck hosts a lineup featuring Frankie Quinones, Tom Thakkar, Aisha Alfa, Arpit Jain, and Lu Louis. Free to attend, but donations happily accepted. Show starts at 7 p.m. More info here.
2nd Wednesday at Roll @ Monica -> Roll, the pop-up skating rink that set up shop in Santa Monica for the summer, is wrapping things up this week with things set to conclude on October 14. On Wednesday, for their final “Second Wednesdays” program of the run, they host a special activation with a Live DJ, skate performances, and a costume contest. $15 admission includes skate rental. Boney Island at the Natural History Museum – M TP > Continuing this Wednesday to Friday, catch the return of Boney Island at the The Nature Gardens of Natural History Museum Los Angeles. Expect an array of glowing installations, spooky skeletons, and shadow puppetry interlaced with artistic performances, and real fossils from the museum’s collection. Plus, this year the attraction is folding in local food trucks and vendors, along with bar service guests who are 21+. Boney Island runs on select days throughout the month of October. The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor -> After a four-year hiatus, Dark Harbor is back at the iconic Queen Mary with terrifying characters, haunted mazes, live entertainment, ghostly experiences, sinister eats and secret speakeasies hidden inside and around Dark Harbor’s mazes and attractions. Tickets start at $39.99. The experience runs on select dates from September 20 through November 2, including this Wednesday to Sunday. More info here.
BLOCtober Movie Nights – M FA -> The Bloc and Alamo Drafthouse Cinema are teaming up for a quartet of spooky movie classics screened on the outdoor lawn on the first four Thursdays of October. Art & Meditation at LACMA – FA > Head to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art this Thursday night for an evening of art and meditation led by educator Alicia Vogl Sáenz. The program features a “slow art-looking exercise” focusing on We Live in Painting: The Nature of Painting in Mesoamerican Art, followed by group meditation session. Black Lagoon Bar at The Normandie -> Starting this Thursday, the touring, immersive Halloween pop-up bar Black Lagoon finds a new L..A. home this Halloween season at The Normandie Club in Koreatown. MASQ! – > Continuing this Friday to Sunday, MASQ! transforms Mountain View Mausoleum into a Venice Carnevale on the evening of a masked ball where a vengeful phantom appears, seeking justice. Presented by the Downtown Repertory Theater Company, known for sold out experience Fangs! and Witch!, this years production MASQ! will include unique individual experiences as you meet the people of La Serenissima and traverse a world of haunted mansions and an abandoned church. A Lustig Style Oktoberfest Menu -> From October 7-20, Lustig in Culver City invites diners to experience a special Oktoberfest menu by Chef Bernhard Mairinger. Enjoy modern takes on traditional dishes like Blood Sausage Gyoza, Venison Tenderloin Medallions, and Rohan Duck Breast, alongside a selection of mouthwatering starters. Highlights include freshly baked German pretzels paired with sweet Bavarian mustard, Beef Bone Marrow Consommé accompanied by cheesy pretzel dumpling bites, and Poached Weisswurst. This exclusive menu will be available in addition to Lustig’s regular offerings.

Krabby Patty Collaborations for SpongeBob SquarePants’ 25th Anniversary-> Starting October 8, SpongeBob SquarePants fans can celebrate the beloved cartoon’s 25th anniversary at various restaurants across Los Angeles. In collaboration with Paramount and Nickelodeon, several local spots will offer Krabby Patty-inspired creations. Lunetta’s “Girl Dinner” Special -> Lunetta in Santa Monica is introducing a “Girl Dinner” special, available on their Midday and Golden Hour menus from Tuesday to Friday, 3 to 5 p.m. For $35, diners can enjoy a classic martini made with women-owned Hera the Dog Vodka, which supports animal rescues. Amour Launches Happy Hour -> West Hollywood’s French bistro, Amour, is now offering happy hour in the bar and lounge from Tuesday to Sunday. Guests can enjoy two sessions: an early happy hour from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and a late-night option from 9:30 to 11 p.m. The happy hour menu features $12 cocktails and rotating select wines priced at $10-12 per glass.
