1. Rose Parade (Jan. 1)

5. Dine LA (Jan. 18-31)
DineL.A. is a 14-day dining event showcasing over 300 of the city’s finest eateries. The diverse selection of restaurants participating this year will each offer specially priced prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus from January 18 through January 31.
6. Photo LA (Jan. 22-24)
Photo LA is a three-day photography fair featuring lectures, roundtable discussions, special installations, and some of the most amazing pictures you’ve ever seen. Probably just a little bit better than what you’re seeing on Instagram… 😉

7. Fast Times Fest at The Wiltern (Jan. 23)
The Wiltern is hosting a throwback movie screening of the iconic teen comedy Fast Times at Ridgemont High and they plan on making it a truly immersive experience, with a costume contest, a Fast Times tribute band to play after the show and a full bar.

8. LA Uncorked at Union Station (Jan. 23)
The inaugural LA Uncorked Wine Festival, coming to Union Station on January 23 promises over 60 local and international wineries plus food trucks and live music, and of course the beautiful historic architecture of the venue to enjoy.
9. VRLA Winter Expo (Jan. 23)
Come see the latest and greatest in the world of virtual reality at the largest VR expo in the world happening on January 23 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Brand demos will include Oculus Rift, Google Cardboard, Samsung GearVR, and more
10. LA Night River Run (Jan. 24)
Experience the revitalization efforts of the L.A. River like you’ve never experienced before, as part of a big group nighttime 5k that includes a complimentary vegan taco bar, craft beer for all finishers and plenty of glowing apparel to light up the evening.
11. Gehry and Science at LACMA (Jan. 24)
Iconic architect Frank Gehry engages in conversation with acclaimed scientist Arnold J. Levine at LACMA’s Resnick Pavillon as they discuss Gehry’s “careful consideration of those who use his buildings and how that impacts his process.”
12. LA Art Show (Jan. 27-31)
What was once a small regional event has grown to become the largest and longest running platform for fine art, with more than 120 galleries from around the world in participation. Now in its 21st year the LA Art Show will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from January 27 through January 31.
13. Art Los Angeles Contemporary (Jan. 28-31)
A three day event showcasing works from artists currently making news in the art world, plus artist talks, curator-led panel discussions, film screenings and performances. It all takes place at the Barker Hanger at the Santa Monica Airport.

14. Shatner’s World: We Just Live in It (Jan. 29)
William Shatner doing Shatner in a unique storytelling retrospective to take place at Club Nokia at LA Live on January 29.

15. Riot LA (Jan. 29-31)
RIOT LA is a Los Angeles’ Alternative Comedy Festival that takes over one block and over six venues in Downtown over a single weekend. This year’s performers include Patton Oswalt, T.J. Miller, David Cross and more.
16. Night on Broadway (Jan. 30)
On a very special evening this January the streets of downtown Los Angeles will come alive as artists, acrobats, musicians, comedians, and other special performers will be on hand to fill the historic Broadway corridor with art, entertainment, and music for Night on Broadway.
17. Museum Free-For-All Day (Jan. 30)
On the last Saturday in January more than two dozen museums in the L.A. area will offer free admission, allowing local residents an amazing opportunity to explore the culture of their city free of charge.
