Starting on July 2 L.A.’s historic transit center will play host to Live Nation’s Ones To Watch concert series, co-presented by KROQ’s Locals Only.
For eight weekends over the summer these free musical performances will take place under the stars at the station’s verdant South Patio Garden and all are slated to include two emerging musical artists, one DJ, plus food trucks on site to offer edibles for purchase while you enjoy the tunes.
Here’s the schedule of confirmed performances we know about through Aug. 20:
July 2 – Michael Leier, Bloodboy, Figs Vision, and DJ – Grant Owens
July 9 – DYAN, The Brinks
Aug. 6 – Sam Fischer
Aug. 13 – Salt Petal
Aug. 20 – Lauv, Pretty Sister
Aug. 27 – The Aces and DJ Grant Owens (WFNM)
Sep. 3 – Brandyn Burnette, Salt Petal, Bryce Fox, DJ Val Fluery, and special performance to be announced.
The Saturday evening Ones to Watch series runs on above dates from 6:30 to 10 p.m.
In addition to the summer concert series, Union Station will also be offering an incredible art installation experience over the summer entitled Union Station 360°.
Created by the experiential design firm The Hettema Group, Union Station 360° will take viewers on an interactive journey through the culture of Los Angeles via a series of cinemagraphs projected on a 30-foot-high sphere that will broadcast hypnotic soundscapes and which can respond to viewers movements.
The installation will be open and free to the public from July 15-24 from 8 p.m. to midnight, with the exception of the Monday, July 18 when it will be closed.
Finally, if you’re looking for more art to admire Union Station’s Grand Waiting room will feature a provocative art installation called Cabinet of Curiosities starting on Aug. 6.
Created by a group of local L.A. artists, the exhibition invites guests to explore mysterious worlds that are viewed through peepholes. Cabinet of Curiosities will be on display until Aug. 31.
