1. DTLA Oysters Festival (Oct. 1-2)
October is National Seafood Month, and you can celebrate L.A.’s love for oysters on Oct. 1-2 at the DTLA Oyster Festival at Grand Central Market.
2. EastSide Food Festival (Oct. 2)
Now in its third year, The 2016 EFF features some of the finest food and drink east of Western Ave including vendors such as Little Beast, Button Mash, Angel City Brewery, Pok Pok, Sticky Rice, Trois Familia, and many more.
3. The Big Draw LA (Oct. 2)
The Big Draw LA: 7th Annual Make Your Mark in the Park invites guests to tap into their artistic side through a series of free drawing activities and workshops, from animation to printmaking to drawing costumed models. Free and open to the public at Grand Park in DTLA.
4. Into the Night: Pop for the People at The Skirball (Oct. 7)
It’s going to be a Pop-ular night at the Skirball Cultural Center where the music and art will both go pop with special food and cocktails themed out just for the event.

5. Free Film Noir at Union Station (Oct. 7)
This fall Union Station is hosting free monthly screenings of noir classics beginning with the appropriately titled police thriller Union Station (1950) on Oct. 7.
6. Culver City Art Walk (Oct. 8)
Explore the best of the best of the Culver City Arts District while kicking off the fall art season a the Culver City Art Walk on Oct. 8. The event features self-guided tours, musical entertainment, and interactive Free and open to the public!
7. Rise of the Jack O’Lanterns at L.A. Convention Center (Oct. 13-16)
Enjoy thousands of hand-carved Jack O’ Lanterns will feature thousands of hand-carved, illuminated jack o’ lanterns arranged along a Highlights include a scenic walking path, 100 lb+ intricately carved pumpkins, and dozens of unique multi-pumpkin structures.

8. Long Beach Zombie Fest (Oct. 14-16)
The Annual 2016 Long Beach Zombie Fest creeps back to the Rainbow Lagoon Park in Long Beach for three days of undead music, blood, guts, and yes – a whole lot of zombies.

9. 6th annual Found LA: Festival of Neighborhoods (Oct. 15)
Found L.A. is an annual citywide event that explores the secret histories of some of Los Angeles’ most unique neighbors and cultural hubs. Explorations / tours are led by residents, public figures and renowned artists, and all are free with RSVP!
10. Burbank Beer Festival (Oct. 15)
Now back for its second year, the Burbank Beer Festival returns with 85 beers on tap to accompany a massive street fair, all in Downtown Burbank.

11. Japanese Garden Festival at Descanso Gardens (Oct. 15)
Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Descanso Gardens’ Japanese Garden on Oct. 15-16 with packed weekend full of music and art.
12. Sherman Oaks Street Fair (Oct. 16)
The largest annual block party in the San Fernando Valley returns on Oct. 16 to showcase the best of what Sherman Oaks has to offer. An expected 100,000 people will attend! Free and open to the public.
13. Beware the Dark Realm (starts Oct. 21)
Based off a medieval castle, Beware the Darken Realm takes its visitors through stone walls, a torture chamber, and more. Throw in some live scare actors, and you are bound to have one heck of fright. The experience is FREE with a one-can donation of food which will be passed on to the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry.
14. Hot Wings & Craft Beer Festival (Oct. 22)
Enjoy a delicious combination of craft beer and wings backed by a day at the races at Santa Anita Park during Hot Wings & Crat Beer Festival, beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 22.

15. CrabFest in Little Tokyo (Oct. 22)
The 3rd Annual Little Tokyo CrabFest will feature all-you-can-eat Singaporean Chili and Snow Crab with legs plus side dishes prepared by the folks from Starry Kitchen. The event serves as a fall fundraiser for the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center.
16. Pasadena ARTtWalk (Oct. 22)
Pasadena’s largest urban art fair is back for its 11th annual affair with some 5,000 expected attendees to hit the Playhouse District on Oct. 22.
17. Dia de los Muertos at Hollywood Forever Cemetery (Oct. 29)
The 17th annual Day of the Dead celebration at Hollywood Forever Cemetery returns on Oct. 29 with live performances, traditional rituals, 100+ altars, Aztec ritual dancers, a costume contest, and more.
18. Grand Ave: All Access (Oct. 29)
Grand Ave: All Access returns on Saturday, Oct. 29 with a day-long deluge of free events over a seven block stretch of Grand Ave between Temple and 6th Street.
19. The Nightmare Before Christmas at The Hollywood Bowl (Oct. 28-30)
Danny Elfman returns for another year of The Nightmare Before Christmas live at The Hollywood Bowl. Elfman will perform alongside original cast members Catherine O’Hara, Ken Page and Paul Reubens. If you haven’t seen it before, it’s not to be missed!

20. 4th Annual Santa Monica Zombie Crawl (Oct. 29)
The 4th Annual Santa Monica Zombie Crawl kicks off at Rusty’s Surf Ranch, where you can check in & pick up your wristbands that will get you $4 drafts, $5 wells, and $5 shots all night. The pub crawl continues through multiple bars, ending at 1212 Santa Monica, home of the Official Zombie After Party. Dress like a zombie… or be prepared to be chased by one!
