Posted by There have been many actors to play the Dark Knight, but perhaps no version of the caped crusader had a lighter touch than the one offered by Adam West. Tonight, the citizens of Los Angeles pay him one final tribute.
This evening (Thursday, June 15, 2017) Mayor Eric Garcetti will turn on a ‘bat-signal’ outside Los Angeles City Hall to honor the late actor.

West played the title role in an unapologetically campy (yet somehow unforgettable) Batman television series that ran from 1966-1968. The actor died over the weekend after a short battle with leukemia. He was 88 years old.
The bat-signal lighting will take place at 200 N. Spring St at 9 p.m., where Mayor Garcetti will hit the switch to light a bat-signal projection on to city hall.

Guests will begin arriving at the location around 8 p.m.
Organizers encourage fans to wear costumes to take part in the ceremony.
For those unable to attend, West’s family is encouraging donations to the Adam West Memorial Fund for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
