We’ve previously touched on the The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens as one of the most scenic spots in Southern California, and how you can visit it for free every first Thursday (assuming you do a little planning).

But did you know The Huntington also hosts mind-expanding evening astronomy talks? And they’re free! Now in its 23rd season, the Carnegie Science Observatories lecture series returns this Monday (today!) with Hubble Einstein Fellow Dr. David Vartanyan, who’ll unpack a major paradigm shift in our understanding of supernovae. The evening kicks off at Rothenberg Hall with a brief musical performance at 7 p.m., followed by the lecture at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are free, but reservations are required.
