Did you know that September 22 is Hobbit Day, an annual celebration of the birthdays of both Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, and this weekend Angelenos can honor the occasion in style at an annual Baggins Birthday Bash to be held in Griffith Park this Sunday, September 20.

Hosted by TheOneRing.Net (or TORN) the event will feature a costume contest, birthday cake-decorating contest, a Sauron piñata to bash and Pin the Black Arrow on the Dragon for the brave. At 12:30pm guest can even partake in a book club discussion on The Silmarillion.
Oh, and the food!
Stonemarch Brewing Company will bring four hobbit-themed beers to the already HUGE potluck picnic and guests are strongly encouraged to contribute by bringing food, party materials, furniture and more. In the food department we spotted some middle earth delicacies like dragon roasted dog and medieval pies.
