Perhaps in no place in the United States are the cultural contributions of Latinos more evident and more a part of daily life than here in Los Angeles. These city-wide contributions shine through in the people, the art, the politics, the food, and of course… the music.

The Hollywood Bowl and The Ford are two of the city’s most iconic venues, so it’s no surprise they’ll both be showcasing some of the best concerts around as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15. On the schedule you’ll find an all-female string mariachi ensemble, legendary cumbia bands, a Colombian pop star, a Grammy-winning flamenco duo, and much more.

Let’s take a look at what’s on tap:

SEP 14: Viva la Tradicion brings Las Colibrí, LA’s favorite all-female string mariachi ensemble, to The Ford for a night of vibrant vocal harmonies and colorful costumes paying homage to Mexican cinematic divas of the ’40s and ’50s.

SEP 15: Jazz Esta Morto offers an electrifying evening of samba soul to The Ford as the legendary Azymuth takes the stage with Marcos Valle.

SEP 18: The duo of Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero bring the guitar-shredding ethos of thrash metal and the rippling runs of flamenco to the Hollywood Bowl.

SEP 21: The second Noche de Cumbia at The Ford promises a musical and visual exploration of the origins of the beloved Afro-Indigenous sounds we know as Cumbia, featuring an all-star lineup of Son Rompe Pera (Mexico), Reyna Tropical (U.S.), and Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto (Colombia).

SEP 22: The Hollywood Bowl has its own Noche de Cumbia this month, highlighted by three of cumbia’s biggest-ever bands: Grupo Cañaveral de Humberto Pabón, La Sonora Dinamita, and Los Hermanos Flores.

SEP 26: Six-time Latin Grammy winner Camilo makes his Hollywood Bowl debut, promsing an evening that spans banda, bachata, norteña, cumbia villera, and pop.

OCT 12-13: The 8th Annual Boleros De Noche returns to The Ford for a two-night affair featuring Trio Los Panchos and Los Caramelos
