The Black Cat and BabyGay team up for an inspiring night in honor of International Trans Day of Visibility. The evening features Zach Oren’s powerful photo series Ides of Gender, a special performance by the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles (America’s premiere all-trans chorus), and thought-provoking discussions led by Sydney Rogers, MSW aka Miss Barbie-Q. Proceeds from bar sales and 20% of Ides of Gender photo sales will benefit Fundación Latino Americana de Acción Social, Inc. (FLAS), supporting healthy Latino communities in the Greater Houston Area. Tickets to attend are free through Eventbrite.
BabyGay, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is dedicated to celebrating the coming-out journey through storytelling, advocacy, and community. Hosting the event is The Black Cat Tavern in Silver Lake—an iconic landmark in LGBTQ+ history and the site of the first documented LGBTQ+ civil rights demonstration, predating the Stonewall uprising by two years.
