Posted by Public service announcement: This is how NOT to drive safely on New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles (or any time of year for that matter).
The dash cam vid embedded below shows a car illegally passing the vehicle in front of him/her, then darting out of the wrong-way lane just in time to avoid a head-on collision. Oh, and then he/she runs a red light for good measure. Thankfully, no injuries or accidents are captured on the video, which was recorded (according to the timestamp) yesterday at around 6:51pm on Barrington Ave in West Los Angeles.

As an aside, this just gets me thinking that it’s a-holes like this guy/girl (whether drunk, angry, or just a goddamn idiot) who really do ruin it for the rest of us. A moving car is pretty much a deadly weapon on wheels, and you need to treat it with the caution and care that reflects the seriousness of operating it. Seriously, this is why we can’t have nice things.
I guess self driving cars can’t come quick enough!
