Get a free ’70s-themed carwash this weekend courtesy of HBO’s The Lady and the Dale, a docuseries detailing the rise and fall of Elizabeth Carmichael, a transgender entrepreneur whose promotion of a fuel-efficient, three-wheeled car known as ‘The Dale’ led to a blitz of media scrutiny over the origin of the technology and details from the creator’s checkered past.
In celebration of the series finale (premiering Feb. 14), the public is invited to cruise into “The Twentieth Century Motor Car Wash,” a real-life homage to the decade of ‘The Dale.’ The activation runs this Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m, and entrance is on a first-come, first-served basis. No registration is required, but you might have to wait to get in if a big line forms.
This is a real car wash, so expect your car to come out squeaky clean. Participants will also receive swag from the show and a prepaid gas gift card. The event takes place at Magnolia Car Wash and Detail Center, 910 W Magnolia Blvd, Burbank, 91506.
