The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York has released over 200 art exhibition catalogs available for anyone to view and download. This means art lovers around the world can now get rare access to catalogs dating as far back as 1936.

A powerful exponent for modern art, The Guggenheim has featured some of the most prolific artists of our time including Francis Bacon, Pablo Picasso, and Roy Lichtenstein. The archives currently available also lean heavily on 20th-century artists, most coinciding with shows held at the museum.

The public can access the museum’s catalogs through archive.org where a filter can sort by artist, year, and medium. Select a catalog and a page will load, allowing you to virtually flip through the book and zoom in to get a closer view of the artworks. If you prefer to download the material, you’ll need to register with the site first. Find a link to the Guggenheim’s archive here to get started.
