This is it. 2024 will be the year. You’re finally going to experience all that culture that Los Angeles has to offer. You’re going to peruse art exhibitions and explore history and really get to know… wait. Does that sound a bit too ambitious? Okay, fine. Then let’s start with a quick tip instead.
If you’re an Angeleno enjoying a little extra time off for the holidays (meaning weekdays are in play) remember that a number of local institutions have special free hours for locals with valid I.D. Here are a few you might consider visiting:

- Los Angeles County Museum of Art – Free for L.A. County residents after 3 p.m. on Monday through Friday (closed Wednesdays).
- La Brea Tar Pits Museum – Free for L.A. County residents from 3 to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday (closed on first Tuesday)
- Natural History Museum of Los Angeles – Free for L.A. County residents from 3 to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday (closed on first Tuesday)
- Also, both the Getty Center (closed Mondays) and Getty Villa (closed on Tuesdays) offer free year-round admission but parking is $10-$20 depending on when you visit.
