You’ve probably heard that a new Hello Kitty Café just opened at the Irvine Spectrum, which is remarkable not only because of the brand association but also because it’s officially the first shipping container kitchen in the food service industry in Orange County.
Pretty neat, right?

Although we couldn’t make it south to see it for ourselves, friend of the blog Kristie Hang happened to be there for the grand opening event this past weekend and she was kind enough to share some of her photos and experiences with us here at We Like L.A.
Check out a few of her shots below, followed by a quick Q&A where you might be able to glean a few insights into what’s good at the new HK spot down in the OC.
Ok, so Kristie… what was your favorite part about the new Hello Kitty Cafe?
The coolest part was the attention to detail. From the chairs to something as mundane as the sugar packets and napkins, everything was Hello Kitty-fied. They even had different Hello Kitty cups for hot and cold drinks.
Best stuff on the menu?
Everything was so cute and unique in their own way. I have to say my favorite items though, were the Hello Kitty Pocket Pie, which is essentially a pop tart and the Mixed Berry Tart.
Think it’s worth the drive down from L.A. to check it out?
Most definitely. They have the characters and lots of photo-ops left and right. They are constantly going to be bringing new items to the mix so that’s going to keep me going back whenever I’m in the area. Overall, they left no stone unturned and for someone who is a fan, I think the experience is worth the drive.
Interested in checking it out?
Cafe hours are Monday-Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday: 11am-10pm, Saturday: 10am-10pm, and Sunday: 10am-9pm.
The Hello Kitty Café is located at 670 Spectrum Center Dr, Irvine, CA 92618.
