Greystone Mansion is a Los Angeles icon. There is no doubt there. The 55-room Tudor revival home rests on a 16-acre Beverly Hills estate boasting sweeping views of the L.A. Basin and a manicured garden that is second to none. In recent decades, the mansion has garnered fame as a location for a laundry list of film and television shows (There Will be Blood, The Big Lebowski, Winning Time, et al) but it was first made infamous as the site of the Doheny murders in 1929.

Today, the grounds are open daily as a public park where you can take in the beauty, the views, and the opulence. It’s a great place for a chill walk, or a setting to chat during a midday hangout. Keep in mind it’ll cost you if you want to book a tour to view the interior. Those tours run once a month at a cost of $10, usually on the first Saturday or Sunday. The self-guided jaunts offer access to the 1st floor and the restored theatre. Best news: No reservation is required to visit the exterior, and parking is free.
