Japan House Los Angeles is a premier purveyor of Japanese culture in Los Angeles and around the world, providing programming which aims to “nurture a deeper understanding and appreciation of Japan in the international community.” Split between spaces on both the second and fifth floors of Ovation Hollywood, Japan House LA offers free art exhibitions, a WAZA shop showcasing traditional and modern Japanese wares, a small bookstore, and a Salon space for hosting live events. It’s that last bit we want to focus in on today.

On select Monday and Tuesday afternoons, you swing by to experience Japanese-style mindfulness at JAPAN HOUSE Los Angeles Level 5 Salon. The Mindfulness Lounge invites guests to try their hand at try Zazen, or Japanese style meditation, taking advantage of comfortable Goza mats and cushions, projections of beautiful scenery, healing music and natural sounds, and fragrant aromas. The Salon is open to the public, subject to closure (be sure to check their website before you go). Find some time to take a break!
