Gloria Molina Grand Park is a 12-acre civic park in Downtown Los Angeles, sandwiched between City Hall on the southeast end and The Music Center on the northwest. The space is well trafficked as weekday lunch hangout and as a hub for a variety of cultural programming throughout the year. Highlights include seasonal music activations like Sunday Sessions and some of the biggest public events in the city such as the annual Fourth of July celebration and a massive New Year’s Eve countdown.
One of the park’s other signature recurring events is the Wellness Break series, which runs on Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the year (always weather dependent). Here you’ll find free restorative yoga sessions as well as a “wildcard” series that features rotating movement classes, from Zumba to Tai Chi. The Wellness Breaks run from noon to 12:45 p.m. on the park lawn, with mats available to borrow as needed. No matter the focus, it’s a chill vibe intended to settle mind, body and spirit. No RSVP is required.
