Tater Tots + Beer = Best Festival Ever
The Tater Tots & Beer Festival comes to the La Brea Tar Pits and Museum on Saturday, March 4 for the best sampling of domestic, imported, and crafted beers paired with mouth-watering tater tot creations. Tickets cost $25 – $75 a person.

Where to drink for Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras
Tiki No gets festivities with Mango and Lime Daiquiris, New Rleans’ own Bayou (Rum) Mardi Punch, and FREE King Cake! Say the secret word “PUNCH” to get drinks mentioned for $6.
Caña Rum Bar starts their celebration at 9 p.m. which will include beads, masks, $5 daiquiris, hurricanes, and more.
The Federal Bar in North Hollywood will be running beer specials by Abita Beer, including their Mardi Gras Bock for just $5. Food specials include jambalaya and beignets. Tuesday Night resident Randy Emata will also be playing a free jazz show starting at 9:30 p.m. in the lounge.
The Darkroom will whip up their signature King Cake for $5 a slice. The bar will also feature zydeco music and New Orleans jazz all day.

A Run + Champagne = Runch!
If food and fitness are a perfect pairing to you then we’ve got an event you absolutely have to attend. It’s called Champagne Runch and it takes place this Sunday, March 5. Runners participate in a 5K at Orange County Great Park in Irvine and are treated to a delicious brunch spread after the run. The post-race brunch includes a five-course prix-fixe meal (featuring five signature dishes from five restaurants beloved by local foodies), along with a complimentary glass of champagne or a mimosa. FYI there’s even a donut station! Ticket cost $85 a person.

Best thing we ate this week
The famous garlic chicken from Versailles while “researching” for our round up of Best Cuban in L.A. The chicken is always juicy, the tang from the lemon garlic sauce is addictive and the traditional sides of black beans, rice and plantains make this meal a wining combination.
