Made-to-order liquid nitrogen ice cream shop Creamistry will open in Torrance on July 21. The first 200 customers will receive a t-shirt with their order. Come in between 2 to 4 p.m. and receive free ice cream!

#FreeFarmerJohn food truck tour
Farmer John is set to roll around Los Angeles in a food truck serving up free Dodger Dogs, All Beef Hot Dogs and Smoked Sausage Dogs starting on Saturday July 23. The food truck is scheduled to make stops in DTLA, Silver Lake, Echo Park, Venice, Santa Monica and the Fairfax area. We were told the locations could change so follow their Instagram for the most updated news.
Ricardo Zarate previews Rosaline test menu at pop-up
Ricardo Zarate has a pop-up this Friday, July 22 with Feastly to exclusively preview his new concept Rosaline before it opens to the public later this summer. Expect bold Peruvian flavors from Zarate’s five course menu. One night only, costs $75 person (or $115 with wine pairings) see menu and ticket information here.
Hudson House x Modern Times Brewery
Hudson House teams up with San Diego’s Modern Times Brewery for the restaurant’s reoccurring “Flights and Bites” beer dinner series. The evening will include a curated selection of Modern Times beers paired with small bites served family style. Tickets are $55 but if you purchase tickets before July 22 you can use the promo code HudsonMod16 to save an additional $10 off the ticket price. More info here.
Rosé tasting all summer long at Ester’s
Esters Wine Shop & Bar in Santa Monica recently launched Summer Rosé Saturdays a weekly tasting available all summer long. Stop in from noon-4 p.m. and get a tasting flight of three rosés for $15. All flights are unique on each Saturday, and guest get a 10% discount if they buy a bottle from the line up.

626 Night market is back
Southern California’s original and largest Asian-themed night market is celebrating five years of food and fun with monthly events from July through September. This month its set to take place at Santa Anita July 22-23.
El Tejano Reschedules Grand Opening for Tuesday, July 26
The Knitting Factory group and founders of Big Wangs and Tipsy Cow have set an official opening date for their Tex Mex concept El Tejano after resolving some technical issues that set back their original opening date in the Spring.

A Japanese summer whiskey dinner
Four-in-one culinary concept Playa Provisions will be partnering with Japan’s Suntory Sprits to host a summer whiskey dinner on Monday, July 25. Guests will enjoy a handpicked selection of Japanese whiskeys, including Suntory Toki, Hibiki Harmony, and 12-year Hakushu and Yamazaki, all of which are paired with small bites with a Asian twist. Tickets are $50 per person online and $55 at the door.

The Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival returns this year July 22-24 with a waterfront event perfect for any seafood-lovers. Highlights include live music, street performers, arts and crafts booths and shopping but the best part is getting your hands on that fresh Maine lobster.
