Guest Bartenders Night at Big Bar Gilligan’s Island Style
Ryan Wainwright and Brian Stewart will be guest bartending this Thursday at Big Bar in Los Feliz with a menu inspired by the 1960’s show Gilligan’s Island. Expect a Gilligan’s mixtape, costumes and other shenanigans.
GoldenBoys Heads to Sambar
On Monday, June 27 Chefs Hunter Pritchett and Adam Midkiff will bring GoldenBoys: their moveable guerilla Chinese Popup restaurant to Akasha Richmond’s Culver City restaurant, Sambar. The ticketed dinner is served in two seatings of 25 people, the first at 7:30 p.m. the second at 9 p.m. and is priced at $45, tickets can be purchased here.
Mohawk Bend LA Beer Week Test Flight
On June 26 test your tasting skills during L.A. Beer Week Test Flight hosted by Mohawk Bend. If you can correctly name each beer AND brewery from a flight you get a chance to win a private craft beer and artisan pizza tasting for up to eight people.
LAMILL Pop-up Dinner Series with Chef Bill Corbett
LAMILL Coffee Boutique in Silver Lake announced the launch of a weekly summer Pop-up Dinner Series with Chef Bill Corbett beginning June 30. The dinners will take place every Thursday and Friday night between 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and will feature a four-course vegetarian tasting menun ($40) with an optional beverage pairing ($20).
Recess Eatery Throws a “Pinot On My Palate” Wine Dinner
Recess Eatery in Highland Park is hosting a “Pinot On My Palate” this Wednesday, June 22 featuring Balletto Estate Vineyars: Russian River Valley. The dinner is four courses paired with exclusive wines at $100 per person. Seats are limited so reservations are required via 818.507.0592

Tony’s Darts Away Throws a Beat the Brewers Trivia Brunch
This Saturday, June 25, Tony’s Darts Away is having their annual Beer Trivia Brunch featuring: Arts District Brewing Co., Eagle Rock Brewing, Ladyface Ale Companie and Three Weavers Brewing. $1 from every beer sold will go to the winning team’s charity of choice. Must hit up place of the week goes to..
The pick of the week goes to: Azla, a vegan Ethiopian food stall inside the Mercado de Paloma in the Historic South Central. You choose from a variety of ala carte items like zucchini noodles, kik (lentils, ginger, tumeric) and Yatakilt (curry veggies) don’t forget to get the injera! A cheap but healthy meal is always a good idea prices run $3.95 to $11.95 for a meal… not bad 😉
