Pizza Made in 90 Seconds
There’s a new pizza joint opening up inside the Sherman Oaks Galleria claiming to make your pizza pie in 90 seconds flat. According to Eater LA, Pizza:90 is a new fast-casual restaurant who uses wood burning Italian ovens to make their pies. After doing some research on their website we found out they bake their pizzas at a scorching 900 degrees, now thats hot. Pizza:90 is set to opening on August 21.

LA Food & Wine is Right Around the Corner
The 5th annual Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival comes to Downtown L.A. and Santa Monica August 24 through 27 for a four-day epicurean event showcasing the best of what Los Angeles and beyond has to offer in food and drink culture. With a combined 100 celebrity chefs, 250 world-class wines, and a live performance by Wyclef this is sure to be a great party. Among the celebrated chefs participating: Alex Guarnascehlli, Nancy Silverton, Tyler Florence, Curtis Stone, Michael Chiarello, Michelle Bernstein, Thomas Keller, Elizabeth Falkner, Ray Garcia, Michael Fiorelli, Neal Fraser and David Lefevre. Modern American eatery, Plan Check Kitchen + Bar just introduced T.N.T. Tuesdays (a.k.a. Tacos ‘n Tequila Tuesdays) a weekly taco and margarita night every Tuesday at the Fairfax and Downtown locations. The specials include $2 Crispy Diablo Tacos with your choice of chicken or beef served with avocado, queso fresco, Monterey jack cheese, and habanero salsa, $5 Margaritas and $5 select drafts. The T.N.T. menu is only available from 4 p.m. to close at the bar only.
E.P. & L.P. presents ‘Melrose Rooftop Cinema’ in West Hollywood featuring sweeping city views, modern Asian cuisine and an outdoor movie experience every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evening through August 30. The series continues this week, starting with Pulp Fiction on Tuesday. General Admission tickets cost $15 and VIP seating is $25. There is a dining option before the movie at the Aussie-Fijian restaurant, it’s called the ‘Express Menu’ featuring three courses for an additional $34 featuring Executive Chef Louis Tikaram’s new dishes inspired by his recent travels to Fiji, Vietnam, and Australia.

Taste of Downtown Culver City: Centennial Grand Finale comes to Downtown Culver City for the ultimate outdoor tasting event. In addition to sampling food from some of the top resturants in the city, guests will enjoy live music and family fun activities. There will be 20 participating resturants including Akasha, AR Cucina, City Tavern, Novecento Pasta & Grill, Rush Street and The Culver Hotel. Ticket prices for adults 12 years and up at $20 (in advance) or $25 (at the door). Tickets for children 3 to 11 years old are $12 (in advance) or $15 (at the door).

Taste of Brews Long Beach hosted at the Shoreline Aquatic Park, is the premiere craft beer festival where you can drink unlimited beer and cider while enjoying a cool ocean breeze. The event also includes gourmet food trucks and will be attended by some of the most popular local breweries, such as Fireman’s Brew, Rock Bottom, Yorkshire Square and Barley Lodge. Early Bird tickets cost $40 for a noon to 4 p.m. slot and General tickets cost $30 for a 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. attendance.
The Wallace and Ilegal Mezcal will collaborate in a cocktail class at Bar & Garden. The free class is all about mezcal! Guests will learn how to make their very own cocktails from 2 to 4 p.m.
Brouwerij West’s Popfuji summer concert series continues with its third concert of the summer with headliner The Secondmen and supporting bands Toys That Kill, Avi Buffalo and The Do-It’s. To make the day even sweeter, Popfuji III will also offer $5 Brouwerij West craft beers! And there will be food trucks on hand to satiate your hunger. Brouwerij West, opened in 2016, is a craft brewery and event venue located inside a historic building right near the waters of the Port of Los Angeles.

Smorgasburg LA’s 2nd annual BBQ Day, is happening this Sunday the popup will host joints like Bludso’s Bar & Que’s, Moo’s Craft Barbecue, Craft Republic, Ol’ Skool BBQ’s Memphis-style low country cuisine and regular BBQ vendors like Black Sugar Rib Co., Stoked California BBQ and Ugly Drum will be serving up come Pastrami. On top of that, Cheezus will be doing a grilled cheese collab with Horse Thief BBQ, and RBTA will be at the beer garden serving Thai style barbecue skewers.
