33 Totally Fun Things To Do in L.A. This Week You Need to Know About [11-21-16 to 11-25-16]

Every week in Los Angeles there are tons of great things to do (even before the weekend gets started) that we think you ought to have on your radar. With that in mind, we put together a list every Monday morning to keep you in the know about what’s happening in the city you love (or maybe just like).

This week, from Monday, Nov. 21 to Friday, Nov. 25, features the DTLA Turkey Trot, Thanksgiving Hike in Griffith Park, CHILL at the Queen Mary, Lights on Display in Sherman Oaks, Enchanted: Forest of Light at Descanso Gardens and LOTS more.

Monday November 21st, 2016

1. Every third Monday of the month head to Santa Monica to the gorgeous Victorian at The Basement Tavern to see top comedy headliners for free! This Monday Amir K and and Jessica Michelle Singleton will take the stage. FREE

2. Largest outdoor ice skating rink returns to Pershing Square for its 19th winter run. The 7,200 square-foot Holiday Ice Rink® Pershing Square will be open every day of the holiday season through Jan. 16.

3. The LA Auto Show is every car enthusiasts dream with close to a thousand cars on display. From Nov. 16 to 27 experience various car exhibits, model debuts and more at the LA Convention Center.

4. Shakespeare in the Shed: The Macbeth Variety Hour at Angel City Brewery. FREE

5. Hot Tub With Kurt & Kristen at The Virgil. The Nov. 21 lineup features John Howell Harris, Emily Heller, Eddie Pepitone, Beth Stelling and Rana May

7. The Alchemist’s Lab is an escape room experience putting you right in the shoes of a junior detective at Scotland Yard in the 19th century. Do you have what it takes to uncover the devious plans of the alchemist? Happening throughout the week. DISCOUNTED (via Goldstar)

8. ICE at Santa Monica is back! Get into the winter spirit by going ice skating, sip on hot chocolate and listening to festive tunes. Happening now till Jan. 16, 2017.

9. Runway Playa Vista presents Music Mondays a free weekly concert and music series. This week they are throwing a kiddie Silent Disco. FREE

10. The 12th edition of Cinema Italian Style (Nov. 17-22) showcases some of the most acclaimed Italian movies of the year in a film festival environment.

Tuesday November 22nd, 2016

11Broadway Sings Disney is a powerhouse concert developed from the Walt Disney catalog’s 80-plus years of magical music. From Steamboat Willie, to Frozen’s “Let It Go,” happening at the Rockwell Table & Stage. DISCOUNTED (via Goldstar)

12. The Lincoln presents “For the Record,” a weekly series where guests bring in their own vinyl for a unique DJ set from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. This week’s theme is Panamajack’s Hidden Gems, featuring a rare collection of international funk records. FREE

13. Food truck night at the California Heritage Museum features a big selection of tasty food trucks (5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.) FREE

15. LA Zoo Lights is back! Now in its third year, the after-hours event showcases animal-themed LEDs, lasers, 3D projections, and animated displays throughout the zoo.

19.Escape Room LA The Alchemist has you locked in a room forced to uncover the hidden power of the Philosopher’s Stone in order to escape from the mad Alchemist. DISCOUNTED (via Goldstar)

20. The NASA’s Pavilion sound experience is now of view at The Huntington Library. A “soundscape” experience that represents the movement of the International Space Station and 19 Earth Science satellites the shell like sculpture emits sounds each interpreting one of the satellites’ missions. Open to the public till Feb. 27, 2017.

21. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

22. The 4th Annual Turkey Trot returns to DTLA this Thursday. From City Hall to Bunker Hill and Spring Street, turkey trotters can get a dose of physical activity prior to their Thanksgiving feasts.

23. Ranger Ernie Thanksgiving hike across Griffith Park (10 mile-hike). FREE

Friday November 25th, 2016

24. Enchanted: Forest of Light at Descanso Gardens will offer visitors a colorful one-mile path route through 10 distinct light displays at unique points within the garden. Happening Nov. 25 and runs through Jan. 8. Check for Discount tickets before making your purchase. DISCOUNTED (via Goldstar)

25. Sherman Oaks resident Mike Ziemkowski takes his Christmas decorating very seriously. From DMX controlled intelligent light, animatronics and a Snowman DJ called DJ Jingles the free display is a beloved tradition in Los Angeles worth driving to. FREE

26. Snow Los Angeles has arrived with L.A.’s first-ever snow tubing park which also includes nine acres of winter wonderland featuring an hourly blizzard and a Giant Snowman Forest Light Show.

27. Every Friday of November, Greenbar Distillery in Downtown Los Angeles will host cocktail classes featuring seasonal, holiday and prohibition era drinks. This weeks theme is Holiday Cocktails.

29. Celebrate Record Store Day! Check out the official site here for the dull schedule of events happening around Los Angeles.
