Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch – > Culver City’s favorite pumpkin village is back offering plenty of family fun, including photo ops in front of giant pumpkin installations, a straw maze, a super slide, petting zoo, giant rocking horses, and pumpkin decorating sessions. Tickets cost $10 to $25 depending on date and tickets for activities begin at $1 each. Mr. Bones runs daily through October 30 More info here.

Carved at Descanso Gardens -> Descanso Gardens’ family-friendly Carved has returned with a pumpkin wonderland featuring a new route, hundreds of carved pumpkins and kid-friendly activities. Tickets start at $35-$45 for non-members. Runs nightly through October 30. Get more info here.

Bee Week at The HammerFA > As part of their PST ART: Art & Science Collide exhibition Breath(e): Toward Climate and Social Justice, The Hammer is hosting a Bee Week from October 13-20. As part of the programming, beekeeper Joe O’Brien will be on hand at the museum this Tuesday through Sunday to discuss beekeeping, honey bees, varieties of honey, and native California bee and plant species. On Wednesday, you can also catch a Native California Bee Identification Workshop led by bee expert Krystle Hickman. Entry to the museum along with access to the special activations is free. Raíces Y Agua Latino Heritage EventM FA > The Afro-Latino Education and Arts Collective is hosting a special activation for Hispanic Heritage Month on Tuesday at the LADWP building in DTLA. Programming include an environmental justice panel discussion, Latin Caribbean food, an Afro-Cuban Performance, salsa and bachata dance lessons, giveaways, and more. The event runs from 11 a.m to 3 p.m. Free to attend. More info here.

Hack Comedy: Stand-Up Comedy + Robots -> Comedy meets tech at Hack Comedy, a blend of live performance with technology popping up at Westside Comedy Theater this Wednesday as part of Tech Week LA. Here you’ll find comedians and artists weirding out with computers and AI to materialize a variety of funny bits (think stable diffusion roasts, voice cloning gags, etc…). The 90-minute performance will be followed by networking and drinks. Tickets run $12.51 Show starts at 8 p.m. More info here.

7th Street’s Glow Up M FA > To celebrate the addition of new tree lighting on 7th Street, between Figueroa Street and Hill Street, The BLOC + FIGat7th will be hosting a special activation this Wednesday night The event includes a live brass band and opening dedication at The BLOC from 6 to 7:30 p.m., along with a silent disco featuring dueling DJ’s at FIGat7th from 6 to 9 p.m. All free to attend. Boney Island at the Natural History Museum M > Continuing this Wednesday to Friday, catch the return of Boney Island at the The Nature Gardens of Natural History Museum Los Angeles. Expect an array of glowing installations, spooky skeletons, and shadow puppetry interlaced with artistic performances, and real fossils from the museum’s collection. Plus, this year the attraction is folding in local food trucks and vendors, along with bar service guests who are 21+. Boney Island runs on select days throughout the month of October. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for kids 3-12. More info here.

The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor -> After a four-year hiatus, Dark Harbor is back at the iconic Queen Mary with terrifying characters, haunted mazes, live entertainment, ghostly experiences, sinister eats and secret speakeasies hidden inside and around Dark Harbor’s mazes and attractions. Tickets start at $39.99. The experience runs on select dates from September 20 through November 2, including this Wednesday to Sunday. More info here.

BLOCtober Movie NightsM FA -> The Bloc and Alamo Drafthouse Cinema are teaming up for a quartet of spooky movie classics screened on the outdoor lawn on the first four Thursdays of October. This week, catch a screening of Monsters Inc. Check-in starts at 6 p.m., and the movie begins at 6:30 p.m. More info here.

Fall Exhibitions Opening at The SkirballFA TP > The Skirball Cultural Center opens three fall exhibitions this Thursday, headlined by the U.S. debut of the traveling exhibition, Diane von Furstenberg: Woman Before Fashion. For the opening day, the museum will offer free admission all day long (normally $18 for adults). Visitors can catch spotlight tours with artists and curators throughout the afternoon, experience the Jewish fall harvest festival of Sukkot, and enjoy sips and snacks for purchase. The celebration culminates with evening remarks from the Skirball team and a few special guests. Tickets are available for daytime (noon to 5 p.m.) or after hours (6 to 9 p.m.). Quantum Preludes at The GettyFA > This Thursday, head to The Getty for an evening of film and live music, featuring the work of internationally acclaimed Mexican artist Tania Candiani paired with experimental musician and sound artist Rogelio Sosa. The concert begins at 7 p.m. at Harold M. Williams Auditorium. Tickets are free, but must be reserved in advance More info here.

Locals Night at Santa Monica PierM FA > Every third Thursday of the month from September to May, Locals’ Night at the Santa Monica Pier presents special programming for locals, by locals. Expect live performances, a stage for salsa dancing, Books & Cookies musical storytime for kids, a car show, local DJs, art exhibits, and more. Free to attend. Programming runs from 4 to 10 p.m. More info here.

Black Lagoon Bar at The Normandie -> The touring, immersive Halloween pop-up bar Black Lagoon has a new L..A. home this Halloween season at The Normandie Club in Koreatown. Over the last three weeks of October they’ll offer a delightful blend of spooky decor and scary good cocktails. No reservations required. 21+ only! Open nightly. More info here.

Pasadena’s biannual ArtNightM FA TP-> On Friday, the fall edition of Pasadena’s biannual ArtNight includes free activations at myriad partner locations, including the Gamble House, Armory Center for the Arts, and the USC Pacific Asia Museum. There will be limited free shuttle service as well to transit guests from various location hubs. Runs 6 to 10 p.m. More info here.

Things That Go Bump in the Night -> This Friday and Saturday, California Botanic Garden in Claremont hosts back-to-back evenings of family friendly entertainment featuring educational exhibits focused on animals of the night and creepy crawlies. There will be animal ambassadors as well (wolf dogs, raptors, insects), interactive activities, and food trucks. Runs 5:30 to 9 p.m. both nights. Adult tickets are $20. More info here.

Salsa Night at Ivy StationFA > This Friday, Ivy Station in Culver City concludes their salsa night series with a Halloween-themed Salsaween party featuring an into lesson by dance instructor Pepe Gonzalez (6:30 to 7 p.m.) followed by a live set from Fermin Fusion Salsa from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Costumes are encouraged. Love Isn’t Blind -> This Friday, the latest edition of Love Isn’t Blind pops up at The Kookaburra Lounge in Hollywood. This live dating show/experiment challenges the standard meet-cute by having a group of men complete to go on a date with an eligible bachelorette… only no words will be spoken. Instead, a series of games unfolds to determine her choice, including calling the mens’ moms and unlocking their phones, until a final selection is made and the couple exchanges words for the first time. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $30, and there’s a 2-item minimum for attending the show. More info here.

Urban Death at Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre -> Zombie Joe’s annual tradition of Urban Death is back with a brand new series of terrifying vignettes, bookended by walks through a creepy maze. The scares continue this Friday and Saturday with shows at 7 p.m. 8 p.m., 9 p.m., 10:45 p.m., and 11:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $23 online, or it’s $28 at door. Get more info here.

Boo-ze Bites & FrightsM > For four nights this October, Street Food Cinema transforms Heritage Square Museum into a spooky playground featuring tours of the historic homes, adult trick-or-treating, food trucks, pop-up bar, and a double-feature of scary flicks for each evening. The series kicks continues this Friday with a double-feature of A Nightmare on Elm Street and Freddy vs Jason. Then on Saturday, catch X starring Mia Goth along with Pearl. GA tickets start at $49.08 per person (including fees), and if you decide to drive it’s $31.07 for GA parking. Doors open on both nights at 5:30 p.m. More info here.

Yang’s Kitchen Early Bird Special -> Yang’s Kitchen in Alhambra has launched an Early Bird Breakfast Special, featuring two eggs, your choice of bacon or sausage, a house-made hash brown brick, and a double stack of cornmeal mochi pancakes—all for $21. You can also add drip coffee or toast for just $1 each. This special is available on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. More info here.

Angeleno Amaro Hour at Sirena -> Sirena at The Georgian in Santa Monica is hosting an Angeleno Amaro Hour on Wednesday, October 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. Guests can enjoy three specially crafted cocktails, each for $12. The menu features an Angeleno Spritz with Angeleno Amaro, soda water, and grapefruit cordial; a Golden Negroni made with gin, Angeleno Amaro, and bianco vermouth; and the tequila-based El Camino, with tequila, Angeleno Amaro, agave, and lime. Go Go Bird Chicken Basket Happy Hour -> Go Go Bird in Culver City is offering a midweek Happy Hour special, available Tuesday through Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. During this time, you can enjoy a fried chicken basket paired with an Asahi beer for just $20. More info here.
