H&H Bagels in Santa Monica -> H&H Bagels, the legendary New York City bagel brand, is making its West Coast debut in Santa Monica on Wednesday, February 26 at 710 Montana Ave. To celebrate, the first 200 customers will receive a tote bag with an H&H gift card valued between $5 and $100. Founded in 1972 on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, H&H Bagels has become a NYC institution, with appearances on Sex and the City and Seinfeld. The Santa Monica location will serve the same beloved classics, including the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese and the Nova Salmon with “The Works.” Guests can also choose from a variety of cream cheese flavors as well as classic bagel options like Everything, Cinnamon Raisin, Jalapeño Cheddar, and Pumpernickel. The menu also features specialty sandwiches, including the Horseradish Roast Beef and Avocado Deluxe. In a show of community support, franchisee Philip Gross, a native Angeleno, will donate 100% of the first week’s profits to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund

Tom’s Snakehole Lounge at Big Bar -> This Monday, Tom Liu (Head Bartender at Thunderbolt) is transforming Big Bar in Los Feliz into The Snakehole Lounge for a one-night-only Lunar New Year celebration in honor of the Year of the Snake. In true Big Bar fashion, expect plenty of quirky surprises—including, rumor has it, Snake Juice possibly served on a remote-controlled snake. But you’ll have to show up to see for yourself. More info here.
