
As we transition to a new month (and drift through the briefest of rain storms), there is plenty on offer here in Los Angeles.

Trans Day of Visibility at The Black Cat -> This Monday, The Black Cat and BabyGay team up for an inspiring night in honor of International Trans Day of Visibility. The evening features Zach Oren’s powerful photo series Ides of Gender, a special performance by the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles (America’s premiere all-trans chorus), and thought-provoking discussions led by Sydney Rogers, MSW aka Miss Barbie-Q. Proceeds from bar sales and 20% of Ides of Gender photo sales will benefit Fundación Latino Americana de Acción Social, Inc. (FLAS), supporting healthy Latino communities in the Greater Houston Area. Bergamot Comedy Festival – M TP > The Crow in Santa Monica present a six-day long comedic arts festival (March 31 to April 5) which offers educational panels, workshops, gatherings and nightly showcases. Some events are free, and others are ticketed. More info here.
So, You Think You Can Science? -> On Tuesday at Dynasty Typewriter, a group of comedians take on science challenges while a panel of experts (aka actual scientists) provide commentary and debunk misinformation. The lineup includes Natasha Leggero, Aparna Nancherla, Joseph Lymous, Esteban Gast, and Seth Morris. Tickets are $20. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. More info here.
Paws on the Promenade – FA > Downtown Long Beach’s monthly doggo meetup is back this Tuesday, offering pups and their human counterparts the chance to mix, mingle and mosey during a breezy evening stroll through the city. Folks will gather at Dog Haus Long Beach at 210 E 3rd St starting at 5 p.m. The walk begins at 5:15 p.m. More info here.
Trivia Night at Resident LA -> The folks at Thinky Drinky bring a free edition of team play trivia to Resident DTLA every Tuesday starting at 8 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place finishes. More info here.
Los Feliz Night Market – FA > Every Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, Los Feliz Night Market brings a mix of street food options, music, and merch to the larking lot of Los Feliz Car Wash. Runs 6 p.m. to midnight. Admission is free, and it’s pet friendly. More info here.
First Wednesday Lecture at The AoP -> Every first Wednesday evening of the month, the Aquarium of the Pacific hosts a guest lecture and cocktail reception at the Pacific Visions Theater. For April 2, the session will cover the topic of lifespans and longevity. Tickets are $5 in advance, or $10 the day of. Runs 7 to 9 p.m. More info here.
John Williams Spotlight at Disney Concert Hall – M > This Thursday and Friday at Walt Disney Concert Hall, Gustavo Dudamel teams with iconic cellist Yo-Yo Ma and the LA Phil for a special performance of John Williams’ magnificent cello concerto along with selections from his vast catalogue of film music. DTLA Art Night – M FA > DTLA Art Night runs every first Thursday of the month, activating 25+ galleries along Downtown’s Historic Core all free to attend. This month also includes an art night after party from 9 p.m. to midnight at LOST DTLA. The main art night event runs from 6 to 10 p.m. More info here.
First Fridays at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA – M FA TP > The April edition of First Fridays at MOCA’s Geffen Contemporary campus features a A Slowness Workshop facilitated by anthropologist Joe Dumit and artist Dorte Bjerre Jensen, designed to offer visitors a new way to experience the exhibition Olafur Eliasson: OPEN. The workshop will be followed by a talk on slowness in perception, experience, and biology. Programming runs 5 to 8 p.m., and it’s free to attend but advanced reservations are required. NHM First Fridays – M > Natural History Museum’s signature monthly series returns this Friday with an emphasis on experiencing sound. The event includes DJ sets in the nature garden, pop-up sound experiences throughout the museum, plus a discussion on the science behind healing sounds. On the Air Marathon at The Hammer – FA > David Lynch aficionados can head to The Hammer this Friday as the museum pays tribute to the director with a marathon presentation of all seven episodes of the cult-classic television series On the Air, which was Lynch’s T.V. followup to Twin Peaks. Chinatown First Fridays – M FA > L.A.’s Chinatown stays open late for an evening of exploring the unique small businesses, restaurants, bars and contemporary art and culture spaces that make up the historic neighborhood. Shark Lagoon Nights at AoP – FA > Free Shark Lagoon Nights are back at the Aquarium of the Pacific this Friday, offering guests the chance to get up close and personal with the Aquarium’s shark roster, including the opportunity to touch smaller sharks such as bamboo sharks. Seoul’s OKDONGSIK Pops Up in Downtown LA -> South Korea’s Michelin Bib Gourmand pork soup specialist OKDONGSIK lands in Los Angeles for an extended pop-up at the Stile Hotel Downtown, running April 1 through December. Taking over the hotel’s mezzanine, the spot serves up its signature Dweji-Gomtang—a slow-simmered pork soup made with pork shoulder, green onions, radish, garlic, ginger, and peppercorns. Each bowl comes with rice bathed in hot broth multiple times before getting topped with thinly sliced pork. Adding a sweet touch, Lefty Gelateria joins the pop-up with its inventive gelato creations.
Free Pie on Mondays at The Apple Pan -> The Westside icon The Apple Pan is now open on Mondays, and to celebrate, they’re giving away 50 free slices of apple pie to the first 50 dine-in customers every Monday in March. A Fire Resilience Dinner with Rory’s Place & LULU -> On April 3, LULU at The Hammer and Rory’s Place from Ojai join forces for a spring tasting menu that celebrates Ojai Valley’s farmers, chefs, and land stewards while showcasing how climate-smart agriculture fosters resilience and community connection. The menu features ingredients grown through regenerative practices, with insights into how organic food waste from Rory’s Place is composted and returned to Ojai Valley’s soil for future harvests. Farmer-partners include Cole Bush of Shepherdess Land and Livestock, Dylan Boek of Boek House Hearth and Husbandry, and Abudu Asaase of Mama Tree Farm. Everson Royce Bar Rolls Out a $12 & Under Menu-> Everson Royce Bar in the Arts District debuts a new menu featuring cocktails and wine for $12 and under. Sip on options like a Pineapple Daiquiri ($11), Grapefruit Ranch Water with Mezcal ($12), and a Bourbon Old-Fashioned ($12).
