LA AX x Lawless Brewing Co. – M > The folks at mobile axe throwing company LA AX are setting up shop at NoHo’s Lawless Brewing Co. all this week (daily through this Saturday). You can catch the throwing station in the parking lot during during normal Tap Room hours. More info here.
Benson Movie Interruption – M > What’s better than seeing a terrible/awesome movie with your friends and making fun of it while you watch it? How about live commentary from some of entertainment’s funniest movie lovers. This Tuesday at Dynasty Typewriter, Doug Benson hosts a “your choice” version of his Movie Interrupted series with special guests Fred Armisen, Jonah Ray, and David Dastmalchian. Attendees are invited to bring in a Blue Ray / DVD of their choice, and the audience will vote on what to watch before the show begins. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7. The Moth: Elbow Grease -> The Moth StorySLAM brings another evening of competitive storytelling to Los Globos on Tuesday. This time around, the theme is “Elbow Grease,” prompting tellers to spin 5-minute yarns on times they went all-out, burned the midnight oil, or pushed themselves beyond what they thought they were capable. Redondo Beach Sunset Yoga – FA > Every Wednesday in September, Redondo Pier Association, MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach and Cancer Support Community South Bay co-present an evening of Sunset Yoga at the Redondo Beach Pier. The one hour flows begin at 6 p.m. at the west end of the pier. Make sure to bring a yoga mat, towel and water. More info here.

First Wednesday Comedy at Common Space – FA > Common Space Brewery’s monthly comedy night takes place on the first Wednesday of every month. Hosts Dave Williamson and Sean McBride host a cozy show in the Brewery’s gallery space, and it’s free to attend. Runs 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. More info here.
Halloween Horror Nights – > Starting Thursday, Universal Studios’ fall horror takeover features the signature Terror Tram, plus a litany of scare zones, lives shows, and a bevy of different haunted houses, including The Weekend themed haunted house, A Quite Place and Insidious The Further. Autry After Hours -> The Autry continues its series of Thursday evening events this week with after-hours museum access and live talks, plus special activations for each night that range from poetry readings and workshops to fashion tours and book signings. This week features in-gallery conversations with Hillary Mushkin and Brendan Threadgill, two artists featured in Out of Site: Survey Science and the Hidden West. Admission is $18 for adults. Getty and The Classical Theatre of Harlem Present Memnon (September 5-28) – > Beginning this Thursday, The Getty Villa’s Outdoor Outdoor Classical Theater returns with Memnon, the tale of a powerful Ethiopian king who journeys to the city of Troy to engage in battle during the Trojans’ darkest hour. Written by Will Power directed by Carl Cofield and co-produced by the Classical Theatre of Harlem. Free to attend with advance reservation. Tickets are $45 person. Get more info here.
Letter Writing Night with Vote Forward – M FA > Join the the folks from Vote Forward at Angel City Brewery this Thursday for an evening of letter writing aimed to drive election turnout among unregistered and low-propensity voters. Runs 5 to 7 p.m. More info here.

Happy Hour & Charcuterie Board for Dogs -> Lillie’s at The Culver Hotel has rolled out a pet-friendly happy hour called “Garden Hour with Toto,” a nod to The Wizard of Oz, which has strong ties to the hotel and recently celebrated its 85th anniversary. From Tuesday to Friday, 3 to 5 p.m., guests can relax on the garden patio, surrounded by trees draped with vintage bird cages, and enjoy light bites and drink specials. Sip on the Ruby Slipper Punch ($12), cask wines by the glass ($10), or draft beer ($5), and snack on almonds, root chips, and olives ($5 each). Your furry friends aren’t left out—they can enjoy their own “barcuterie” board, featuring fresh fruits and veggies, Gruyere cheese bites, peanut butter dip, and crunchy treats ($11).
Holy Water Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles Cocktails -> West Hollywood cocktail bar Holy Water has crafted a special give-back cocktail, Sing Out, Louise!, to support the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA). Available throughout September, Sing Out, Louise! ($16) features Meili Vodka, Campari, Raspberry Gomme, Kola syrup, lime, and club soda, and can also be enjoyed as a mocktail. For every drink ordered, Holy Water will donate $5 to GMCLA. Tiki Bar Pop-Up at Pendry -> The Pendry West Hollywood is transforming the rooftop of Merois into a tiki paradise, complete with a tropical cocktail menu featuring classics like the Zombie, Frozen Piña Colada, and Mai Tai. Alongside these island-inspired drinks, guests can snack on things like Bluefin Tuna Poke, Chicken Katsu Musubi, and Custard Guava Malasadas.
