Presidential Debate Watch at The HammerFA > Kamala Harris and Donald Trump face off this Tuesday for their first debate of the 2024 election season, and if you want to watch it live with fellow voters / political junkies you can swing over The Hammer for a special screening event. Pre-debate coverage starts at 5 p.m., and the debate begins at 6 p.m. Free to attend. More info here.

Sketch Party at Benny Boy -> Sketch Party’s twice-monthly drawing/drinking meet-up is back at Benny Boy Brewing this Tuesday. They’ll hook you up with sketch paper, pens, pencils, and markers, then it’s up to you to create, mingle, hang out, and enjoy BB’s solid lineup of craft beers and ciders. 901 Cochinita Tacos will be on hand selling grub as well. Redondo Beach Sunset YogaFA > Every Wednesday in September, Redondo Pier Association, MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach and Cancer Support Community South Bay co-present an evening of Sunset Yoga at the Redondo Beach Pier. The one hour flows begin at 6 p.m. at the west end of the pier. Make sure to bring a yoga mat, towel and water. More info here.

L.A. Story at Hauser & Wirth West Hollywood FA > Starting this Thursday, Hauser & Wirth’s West Hollywood gallery presents L.A. Story, a group exhibition inspired by Steve Martin’s 1991 comedy. Featuring artists like David Hockney, Ed Ruscha, and Mark Bradford, the show offers a surreal homage to L.A.’s iconic scenes and locations, from swimming pools to cityscapes. More info here.

Post Human at Jeffrey DeitchFA TP > More than thirty years after Jeffrey Deitch’s landmark Post Human brought dozens of artists together to riff on technological advancement and social pluralism, the gallery is revisiting the theme with fresh discourse and new ideas through works from over 30 artists, all presented as part of part of the Participating Gallery Program for Getty’s PST Art: Art & Science Collide. Post Human kicks off with an opening reception this Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through December 21. More info here.

Roguelike Rumbles -> Returning this Thursday to Roguelike Tavern in Burbank, Roguelike Rumbles is a live, immersive (and oft hilarious) Dungeons and Dragons game where audience members cheer on their favored champion and offer support by purchasing potions, magical items, and more. Pre-game questing begins at 7 p.m., and the adventure begins at 8 p.m. It’s free to attend, but there is a two-item minimum. More info here.

Breath(e): Toward Climate and Social Justice at The HammerM FA > This Friday, The Hammer’s opening reception for Breath(e): Toward Climate and Social Justice features late night gallery access plus music in the courtyard. Dance MDRFA > Every Friday night in September, shimmy over to Burton Chace Park for an evening of dance featuring beginner lessons from top L.A.’s dance teachers plus DJ spun tunes to get into the groove. This week, the series continues with a night of Disco. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., dancing starts at 7 p.m. Free to attend. More info here

Summer of SalsaM FA > On Friday, LA Plaza’s 2024 Summer of Salsa series comes to a conclusion with a performance by Club Mambí, a musical collective created by Los Angeles-based Cuban trumpet player and percussionist Onier Bacallao. Ivy Station Night Market OktoberfestM FA TP > Ivy Station’s Friday night market returns with an Oktoberfest themed version of their monthly activation, including live Bavarian music, 30+ local vendors, food trucks, German inspired beers, food and games. Plus, nearby LA Ale Works will be hosting their own Oktoberfest celebration featuring fresh beer releases, live music, and games with prizes. It all runs 5 to 10 p.m. Free to attend. More info here.

Fireworks Finale with Boyz II Men at The Bowl -> To close out their 2024 summer season, the Hollywood Bowl is taking things back the early 90’s this Friday to Sunday with music from Boyz II Men, alongside an opening performance by Paula Abdul. Plus: each evening includes a spectacular fireworks performance! Available tickets start at low as $20. Each concert begins at 8 p.m. More info here.

Immigrant Chef Series at Momed -> To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Momed in Atwater Village is reviving its beloved “Immigrant Chef Series,” a tribute to Los Angeles’ diverse culinary heritage. Starting September 9th, Owner Alex Sarkissian and Chef Vartan Abgaryan will host four special Monday night dinners, each featuring a Seven-Course Tasting Menu ($80 per person) crafted in collaboration with chefs from immigrant backgrounds. The lineup includes Chef Susan Yoon (Sept 9), Chef Nakul Mahendro (Sept 16), Chef Wesley Avila (Sept 23), and Chef Vivian Ku (Sept 30). Guests will enjoy family-style dining that celebrates the rich cultural and culinary diversity of Los Angeles. Complementing the dinners are $10 specialty cocktails and wines. 5% of proceeds from each dinner will support organizations dedicated to immigrant and refugee causes. The celebration extends beyond Mondays with an all-night Happy Hour held from Sunday to Thursday for the month of September. More info here.

A Foot High Nacho Tower at Gladstones -> Gladstones has introduced a special $10 NFL game day menu and an all-night Happy Hour every Friday. Available during NFL and NCAA game days, the $10 menu features signature items like nachos, half a dozen chicken wings, potato boats, and $15 rotating pitchers of beer. The highlight is the “Pyramid of the Pacific,” a foot-high nacho tower priced at $75, designed to serve 4-6 people. This impressive dish is stacked with grilled chicken, shrimp, steak, and topped with a cold-water Australian lobster tail.
