Dance DTLA: Special Edition – M FA TP > This Friday, The Music Center presents a special spring edition of its free summer dance party series, Dance DTLA. The first-ever springtime Dance DTLA will showcase a variety of dance genres including salsa, reggaeton, funk and Afrobeats, all hosted at Walt Disney Concert Hall inside BP Hall and outside at the Blue Ribbon Garden. Fourth Fridays in Long Beach – FA > Retro Row in Long Beach comes alive on the fourth Friday of the month with special pop-ups, live performances, and extended store hours from shops on 4th St between Temple and Cherry. The event runs 6 to 9 p.m. More info here.
Night Dive at AoP – M > The Aquarium of the Pacific’s signature adults-only, after-hours series returns this Friday with an late-night party featuring food trucks, cash bars, DJs throughout the Aquarium galleries, and a live band playing in the Great Hall of the Pacific. Exhibition Openings at TAM – FA TP > Torrance Art Museum hosts an opening reception this Saturday night to mark the debut of their spring exhibitions. The reception features a live dance performance by CONTRA-TIEMPO Activist Dance Company supported by vocalist Carmina Escobar. Art on display will include the group exhibition Body Count, David DiMichele’s immersive installation, Envirotechnology, and Erin Cooney’s Aire Libre. Aristotle/Alexander -> After a successful run at The Getty Villa’s Theater Lab last spring, director Alex Lyras brings Aristotle/Alexander to Company of Angels in Boyle Heights starting this Saturday and Sunday. The play dramatizes the real-life relationship between between Aristotle and a teenaged Alexander the Great, touching on themes of power, tyranny, truth and democracy, and resonating (all too vividly) with issues of today. After the premier weekend, the show continues on select weekend dates through May 4. Tickets start at $40 for adults. More info here.

Performance – FA > On Saturday, The Ebell of Los Angeles celebrates Women’s History Month with the world premiere of We Can Do It, an imaginative and musical celebration of the remarkable women who have shaped Los Angeles. Native Plant Fest at California Botanic Garden – FA > This Saturday, Claremont’s California Botanic Garden hosts a Native Plant Festival celebrating California’s incredible biodiversity. Dozens of regional nonprofits, landscapers, and agencies will be on hand offering info on native plant landscaping, wildlands conservation and restoration efforts, special workshops, and tours. The family-friendly event also includes storytime and craft stations, live music, and bites for sale from on-site food trucks. Tickets are free, but must be reserved in advance. 3rd Annual Poetry Lives in Pico Union – FA > This Saturday, Pico Union Library’s 3rd annual Poetry Lives offers a kid-centric afternoon of live poetry readings, workshops, food and more for all ages. The special guest speaker for the day will be Sonia Guinansaca, an International Award-winning Kichwa-Kanari poet, cultural strategist and social justice activist. The Festival of Forgotten Grapes -> Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay may dominate wine lists, but what about Semillon, Cinsault, and Marsanne? Enter The Festival of Forgotten Grapes, a celebration of California’s rare and under-appreciated varietals, returning this Saturday. Held at Mica Studio in the Arts District, the event features over 110 lesser-known wines poured by the passionate winemakers who produce them. Guests can taste, order bottles on the spot, and have selections delivered straight to their door for a low one-time fee. VIP tickets are sold out, but General Admission ($74.47) is still available. Re:Her Wine Flights and Small Bites -> As part of the programming for Regarding Her’s Women’s History Month Festival, head to Vinovore Eagle Rock this Saturday as Laura Estenson of Mouthfeel Events teams up with with sister-Chef duo Chloe + Eliza Mozer of oooey studios for a special night of wine flights paired with seasonal small bites, all to highlight queer women winemakers. Grief Yoga – M > Chinatown’s Studio DDLA (a death & mortality centered art and community space) activates this Sunday with a donation-based, yin-style yoga class focusing on areas of the body that store grief. Wellington Jazz Supper Club ->This Saturday, About Last Knife (ALK) at The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood hosts a Wellington & Jazz Supper Club, pairing live jazz with a curated four-course tasting menu celebrating the iconic Beef Wellington. For $125 per person, the evening kicks off with a Blood Orange French 75 made with Barr Hill Artisan Gin, served alongside buffalo chicken and cheeseburger welly bites. A Fire Resilience Dinner with Rory’s Place & LULU -> On April 3, LULU at The Hammer and Rory’s Place from Ojai join forces for a spring tasting menu that celebrates Ojai Valley’s farmers, chefs, and land stewards while showcasing how climate-smart agriculture fosters resilience and community connection. The menu features ingredients grown through regenerative practices, with insights into how organic food waste from Rory’s Place is composted and returned to Ojai Valley’s soil for future harvests. Farmer-partners include Cole Bush of Shepherdess Land and Livestock, Dylan Boek of Boek House Hearth and Husbandry, and Abudu Asaase of Mama Tree Farm.
