Waking up in the morning, firing up your phone/computer and being able to scan a super quick (but curated) rundown of the best of what lies ahead. So here it is, our list of fun things to do in Los Angeles for Monday, January 29, 2018.

1. [5:30 p.m.] Calling all comedians and aspiring funny people. Meltdown Comics will host a free Nerdist Open Mic night where new comics and known comics will try out their new material each for three minutes. Do you have what it takes?
2. [6 p.m.] Pirates, Innovation and Rum! at the Pasadena Playhouse. FREE
3. [7 p.m.] Join Boomtown Brewery for Monday Movie Nights, a new monthly movie screening in their private event space set up with comfy couches, craft beers, popcorn and an option to order from Purgatory Pizza. This week they will screen The Water Boy. FREE
4. [8 p.m.] Pub Trivia at the Red Lion Tavern in Silver Lake.
5. [8:15 p.m.] Arclight in Hollywood is doing a special screening of Big Trouble in Little China.
6. [8:30 p.m.] Hanging Out with Paul Scheer returns to Largo for a funny round table show where each guest bring in something they think is cool and the discussion takes off from there. This month Maria Bamford (Lady Dynamite), Nicole Byer (Loosely Exactly Nicole) and Chaos Chaos (Rick and Morty) will join this “adult version of show and tell.”
7. [8:30 p.m.] If You Build It LA: A Stand-Up Comedy Show at the UCB Sunset.
8. [8:30 p.m.] Lauren Ruth Ward Monday Night Residency at the Echoplex. FREE
9. [9 p.m.] The Business LA is a free comedy show at Little Joy featuring some of the best local comics in town. FREE
10. [various] There are two free yoga classes on Monday. One at the Edendale Branch Library and a second at the Studio City Branch Library of the Los Angeles Public Library. FREE
