1. [10 a.m.] A free Friends themed pop-up opens at the Santa Monica Promenade this Thursday, courtesy of AT&T. It’s called ‘The One in Santa Monica’ and includes a life-size recreation of the famed Central Perk coffee house built using over a million LEGO bricks. Entry is free, but you have to book a reservation for a time slot online. FREE
2. [5 p.m.] Here and Now transforms it’s space into a holiday bar called Blitzen’s from December 3-31. Get transported to the the North Pole and enjoy 15 festival cocktails, a seasonal food menu with offerings like Christmas poutine, themed entertainment and more.
3. [5 p.m.] The Holiday Light Festival Train Ride at Griffith Park is a festive one mile ride on the tracks with tens of thousands of lights to get you in the Holiday spirit. Running November 29 through December 30.
4. [5 p.m.] Culver City Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration in Downtown Culver City will get the businesses on that street in the holiday spirit. They’ll be providing hot beverages, cookies and other treats to the public while a sledding experience and to other holiday activities entertain. FREE
5. [5:30 p.m.] W Hollywood hosts their “Office Party” this Thursday, a free shindig with sounds by Mayer Hawthorne (DJ set) and Matt Suave, complimentary passed bites and more from 5:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.
6. [6:30 p.m.] The Los Angeles Zoo is hosting a ‘Polar Pajama Party’ as part of L.A. Zoo Lights . The evening includes access to a private lounge from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m, complimentary gourmet hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine, and a signature cocktail in the lounge. Guests can then check out L.A. Zoo Lights until closing at 10 p.m. Holiday pajamas are encouraged.
7. [7 p.m.] Tonight is the opening reception for Gallery iam8bit’s 6th Annual Ornament Show. The showcase features artists from around the world who have crafted hundreds of original ornaments to help your Christmas tree stand out above the rest this holiday. FREE
8. [7 p.m.] Pasadena Playhouse Tree Lighting Ceremony will include live music, a performance by Bob Baker Marionette Theater, and possibly some snow to kick off your holidays. Bonus points if you bring a new, unwrapped toy or sports equipment to donate you’ll receive a complimentary cup of hot chocolate or coffee. FREE
9. [7 p.m.] CAGES, a new pop-rock musical from duo Woolf and the Wondershow, comes to the Arts District from Dec. 5-21.
10. [7:30 p.m.] The Contenders film series returns to The Hammer Museum with 10 screenings curated by The Museum of Modern Art. The films selected are new films believed to stand the test of time in influence. This Thursday they’ll screen One Child Nation, followed by Q&A with director Nanfu Wang, moderated by La Frances Hui.
