1. [11 a.m.] There’s a free tea ceremony lead by herbalist, artist, and medicine maker Saewon Oh of Sun Song and a writing workshop with Quaker Elder Dorothy Henderson at The Hammer Museum. FREE
2. [noon] The Cat Art Show continues at Think Tank Gallery in DTLA.
3. [6 p.m.] Eagle Rock Brewery’s Battle of the Bands.
4. [7:30 p.m.] Eugene O’Neill’s Pulitzer prize-winning masterpiece Long Day’s Journey Into Night led by director Sir Richard Eyre and starring Oscar-winner Jeremy Irons and Olivier winner Lesley Manville is now playing at The Wallis until July 1, 2018.
5. [8 p.m.] Moonlight Movies on the Beach returns to Alfredo’s Beach Club in Long Beach a a summer of free film screenings on the sand. The series kicks off on Tuesday with a showing of The Sandlot.
6. [various] Grand Park will host Big L.A. Portrait Gallery from June 7 to July 4, transforming itself into a nighttime art gallery featuring photos by Los Angeles-based artists. Photography will be projected onto the 100 square-foot wall of the historic L.A. County Hall of Records right in front of Grand Park. Art will be on display nightly from sundown to midnight and is free to the public. FREE
7. [various] June is California Avocado Month and Grand Central Market in DTLA is the place to be for all things avocado. A select group of chefs have rolled out avocado inspired offerings on their menu just for the month.
8. [various] Free admission at: Los Angeles County Arboretum, South Coast Botanic Garden and Descanso Gardens. FREE
9. [various] Lawry’s turned 80 this month! The iconic prime rib destination is currently offering guests a dinner for two special throughout the month of June. For $80 guests can dine on a spinning bowl salad, a California cut of prime rib with mashed potatoes + Yorkshire pudding or salmon with seasonal vegetables, and a trifle accompanied by a champagne toast.
10. [various] Venues such as 2nd Stage, Hudson Theatres, The Broadwater and the Underground Annex Theater will host comedy, ensemble theatre, dance and many more performances during the annual Hollywood Fringe Festival from June 7-24.
