Los Angeles provides no limit of things to do, some awesome and some not so awesome. Since time is precious in this fast paced city, we decided to curate a list of things to do in Los Angeles every week end that’ll help you decide how you want to spend your limited supply of attention (not to mention dollars!).
This weekend includes an after-hours party at the Music Center, a weekend-long arts and music fest in Hollywood, a Hard Core Cider Tour, the AFI Film Festival, and plenty more to choose from.

1. Sleepless: The Music Center After Hours
On Friday, the Music Center’s after-hours party series returns for its second event of the year. It’s called Sleepless and it will feature a huge list of fun activities including multiple spaces and floors filled with live DJs, lighting installations and even sound baths.
2. The Little Mermaid Returns To The El Capitan Theatre
A limited run of Disney’s Academy Award-winning film “The Little Mermaid” from November 5- 22, 2015. Before and after the movie, El Capitan guests will be greeted by Ariel, live on stage. More information and discount tickets via Goldstar.
3. All Space Considered
The Griffith Observatory hosts a monthly forum where some of the most amazing phenomena in the known universe are explained and discussed. It’s called All Space Considered and it takes place on the first Friday of every month, hosted by the Observatory’s curational staff.
4. The Groundlings: The Completely Different Late Show
The Completely Different Late Show is a hilarious improv show by the cast of the Groundlings’ Main Company. Audience shout suggestions throughout the night for improvisational scenes performed by some of the best in the business. 5. Herschel Supply Co. & Native Shoes Massive Sale
Herschel Supply Co. is marking down all carryalls for their two-day sample sale, including messenger bags, backpacks and laptop cases along with Native Shoes- kicks for women, men, and kids. Happening Friday and Saturday from 10:00am – 6:00pm in suite B405 of the California Center. Complementary coffee and drinks will available and cash and credit are accepted.

6. The James Beard Foundation’s Taste America: Los Angeles
The James Beard Foundation’s Taste America is stopping in Los Angeles for a night of cocktails and dining at the Wilshire Ebell Theater. Tickets start at $100 for the cocktails and tasting reception with a lineup of Los Angeles finest chefs including Ray Garcia, Timothy Hollingsworth, Michael Hung, Jessica Koslow and Zach Pollack. A separate four-course seated dinner designed by James Beard Award winner Hugh Acheson and Local Stars Jon Shook, Vinny Dotolo, hosted by Chef Louis Pechan of Animal is also available for $275.
7. AFI Film Festival
AFI’s annual week-long celebration of international cinema features both modern masters and emerging filmmakers, takes place from November 5-12, 2015.
8. Only in Hollywood Music + Arts Festival
A massive neighborhood festival is coming to Hollywood with over 100 live performances at dozens of venues and five pop-up art galleries on November 5 through 8.
9. Free Day At The Pasadena Museum Of Art
The Pasadena Museum of California Art has free admission for 12:00pm – 5:00pm this Friday. Visit the Kosmic Krylon Garage by L.A. artist Kenny Scharf.
10. Los Angeles Music Video Film Festival
The fifth annual LAMVF is happening Friday through Sunday. A series of panels, speakers and screenings curated from over 600 submissions from 35 countries. Kimbra will give a keynote address and tickets are $12 a session with an option of a weekend pass for $40. Happening at The Silent Movie Theater.

11. Lunchtime Yoga Retreat
Get your sun salutations on in the middle of Downtown in Grand Park! The free yoga class starts at 12:15pm and runs to 1:00pm.
12. ENGAGE MORE NOW!
This international conference will take place at The Hammer for two days (6th-7th) and will focus on the subject of public engagement. The FREE symposium will convene a group of experts to consider ongoing practices initiated by artists and museum professionals that are designed to engage the public. 13. Rooftop Film Club
The popular screening series that has already held court in London and New York is closing out it’s first run in Los Angeles this weekend. Each screening of the Rooftop Film Club series organizers set up rows of lawn chairs on the roof of the Ricardo Montalbán Theatre and provide headphones for each attendee. Doors open at 6:00pm with screenings starting at 8:00pm. Casablanca on Friday, Some Like It Hot on Saturday and closing out the series for the season will be Sunset Boulevard on Sunday.
14. First Fridays at Venice Beach
On the first Friday of the month head down to Abbott Kiney Blvd. in Venice Beach for tons of food trucks, open galleries and late-night shop hours. Get more information via the official event blog.
15. Free Day At The Norton
The Norton Simon Museum has free admission from 5:00pm to close this Friday. On view is European art from the Renaissance to the 20th century, a stellar collection of South and Southeast Asian art spanning 2,000 years to Modern and Contemporary Art from Europe and the United States.
16. Free Meditation Classes At The Springs DTLA
Urban wellness oasis The Springs is offering free meditation class, Monday through Fridays at 1:00pm! Grab one of their fresh pressed juices after, it’s pretty much the best in town.
17. First Fridays at Bixby Knolls
An art walk, dining and shopping experience where participating businesses in the Long Beach neighborhood of Bixby Knolls businesses unite to promote local artists and musicians through extended operating hours. Fun for all-ages… and free! Regularly scheduled at 6:30pm-9:30pm on Fridays.

20. The NKLA Super Adoption Event

21. Eastside Handmade
Support local artisans at this indie pop-up market hosted by Shopclass in Highland Park. This annual outdoor market is stocked with plenty of unique home accessories, jewelry, pottery, art work, photography, paper goods and more. This event is free and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream will be scooping up some of their fine ice creams to shoppers in need of a sugar fix.
22. CAN I KICK IT?
CAN I KICK IT? invites fans of hip hop to be part of a hilarious new take on an old school tradition of watching music videos with buds. To make things interesting, Al Jackson and a panel of comedians/entertainers/rappers will give comedic commentary to some of your favorite rap videos from the 70’s-90’s in front of a live audience. Happening at NerdMelt tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
23. The Jackalope Arts Fair
Come hang at Old Pasadena’s Central Park over the first full weekend of November for Jackalope Arts, a huge public art fair featuring over 200 local, curated and hand-selected artisans, crafters, and DIY enthusiasts offering a massive array of indie goods, jewelry, ceramics, housewares, art, photography, and other home-decor items.

24. FREE Tasti D-Lite At Tasti Planet Grand Opening
On Saturday, November 7 Tast D-Lite & Planet Smoothie- aka Tasti Planet will open it’s first California store in Santa Monica. 27. American Indian Arts Marketplace
The Autry’s American Indian Arts Marketplace features 200 Native American artists who represent more than 40 tribes.Throughout the weekend guest can enjoy performances, children’s activities, informative talks, demonstrations, and the annual short play festival put on by Autry’s resident theatre company Native Voices.

This two day event of yoga classes, workshops, shopping and seminars will leave you feeling enlightened. Happening at The Reef in DTLA.
29. ART UNITES 9: An Eclectic Mix of Art and Artists Works
The Art Directors Guild Gallery 800 presents “ART UNITES 9: An Eclectic Mix of Art and Artists’ Works” opening Saturday with a hosted reception from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Located in the heart of the famed NoHo Arts District, Gallery 800 showcases guild members’ personal art in a series of shows throughout the year. The public will have the opportunity to meet the artists and preview their art.

30. Pepper Tree Music Jam Exhibit Opening
Enjoy a weekend of music making at the brand-new Pepper Tree Music Jam. The new outdoor exhibit located in the Kidspace Gardens, invite guest to develop an understanding of the music and sounds found in nature. In addition to making music, guests can make drums and shakers, and participate in drum circles. The Pepper Tree jam will take place on the Saturday and Sunday.

31. Rosebowl Flea Market
One of the biggest and most popular flea markets in California is located in Pasadena inside of the Rose Bowl. Yup it is literally THAT big. Held on the second Sunday of each month the Rosebowl Flea Market has everything you can imagine; $5 vintage tees, hard to find vintage jewelry and furniture is only the tip of the iceberg.
32. Poutine Burger At Hopdoddy Is Back

Barnsdall Art Park’s Croquet, Champagne + Oysters fall fundraiser is back on Sunday, November 8, 2015. Spend an afternoon on the lawn of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House sipping cold champagne, slurping on oysters and playing a game of croquet. It’s all for charity!

36. Dog Haus Brings Back Turducken Sausage
Dog Haus has brought back their “Turducken” sausage for the month of November. The sausage is a creation the Dog Haus’ culinary team + official “Würstmacher”/sausage-maker Adam Gertler. A Turducken is composed of turkey, chicken, duck, fresh herbs, whiskey soaked cranberries, and yams, and is then topped with sage gravy, a Brussels sprouts & bacon slaw, and crispy onions all wrapped in a King’s Hawaiian roll!
37. The Amazing Los Angeles Race II
This hybrid scavenger hunt / sightseeing tour is a brilliant way to spend your Sunday afternoon getting to know the city of angels. Starting at the Dave & Busters in Hollywood, participants form teams of two to eight people and make their way to different L.A. sites trying to solve puzzles and unlock the clues that will lead them to the next location.
