This December that’s exactly what will happen, thanks to folks at Time Out Los Angeles.

The city of angels’ inaugural Mac & Cheese Smackdown arrives at the L.A. River Studios on Sunday, December 6, 2015.
Some of the best restaurants in the city will offer creative takes on this beloved cheesy classic to hungry guest through two hours of tastings, plus beer pairings.
Even though the event is about a month out it’s still a little light on details, but here’s what we do know so far:
There will be two sessions to choose from, either noon – 2:00pm or 2:30pm – 4:30pm. According to Time Out L.A.’s Facebook post your ticket gets you a tasting from each of 7 participating restaurant stations (as yet unnamed) plus 3 craft beers (assuming 21+ only).
UPDATE: Contenderes for this year’s Mac & Cheese crown include Mac-o-licious, Lemonade, Nick & Stef’s Steakhouse, Horse Thief BBQ, POP Champagne & Dessert Bar, The Hudson, The Churchill, Max City BBQ and Hyperion Public.
Tickets are $30 (plus tax) for either session.
